Rocky Gap State Park provides the family with many activities. There are 3 clean, sandy beaches, on a peaceful, calm lake. Many hiking trails are provided, but one can also go canoeing for a very scenic view of the lake. They have a playground for Children and free showers.

We always enjoy our stays at the Rocky Gap hotel and casino. The hotel staff are always courteous, helpful and friendly while the rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained by the housekeeping staff. The lake side suites are our favorite rooms to stay in and they have great views of the Park. The casino is is new and is... More

We were looking forward to a relaxing weekend camping at Rocky Gap and hoped to enjoy the lake and all of the park's activities. We had not stayed in a Maryland Park before and soon learned that the pads set up by the parks can make it very challenging to set up the campsite. We had to leave our dining... More

Rocky Gap is the perfect weekend getaway spot. Not too far a drive for a spectacular natural setting. If you plan to camp out, make your reservation in advance as certain areas book up quickly during peak weekends. The campsites are spaced nicely so you have some privacy. The bathhouse is nothing special. The campsites with electric hook-ups do not... More

We attended an outdoor wedding in the amphitheater followed by the reception on a hill overlooking the valley. The park is a kick-off spot for many athletic events including a bike ride to Washington, DC along the Cumberland Trail. The little beach area along the river appealed to families and boaters.

Rocky Gap has it all. The campgrounds...always important...the restrooms were clean and bright. If camping on a weekend any campground restrooms are dirty. The sites are spacious. We camped in Fir Memorial Day Weekend. Perfect location to lake activities and park. We were in Birch Labor Day Weekend. It was too far from the lake and park. You could walk... More

You are sure to enjoy this state park with lots to keep you busy. We were there for the weekend and wish we had longer to stay. We hiked a couple of the easy trails. We rented Kayaks and went out on the lake. This is very reasonably priced by the way. They have fishing poles you can rent from... More
