Rocky Gap State Park is just off I-68 in a scenic mountain valley six miles east of Cumberland. The views of the rolling hills, the dam, and Lake Habeeb would be nicer without the blight of a casino on the SW shore. To answer other reviewers, I don't know of a single state park that actually makes money off entrance... More

We were introduced to the park due to a gift certificate for the Rocky Gap Resort. The park was beautiful with fall color. We enjoyed walking the entire lake loop, took us 2 1/2 hours. Wear good walking shoes. Saw no wildlife except water fowl. Due to the time of the year no camping was happening but the facilities looked... More

We spent the weekend at the Casino (not camping...thankfully...the temps dropped into the 30's at night). The leaves had not yet turned/peaked but it was my 1st time there and it was very nice. We hiked around the Lakeside Loop, hiked up Evitt's Trail to the gorge and had snacks and biked around the camp grounds. Fresh air, beautiful scenery...I... More

I love the trails. After working at the hospital, it is a nice run. The outer loop is a little longer than the inner, but it is nice even after a terrible rain. It wasn't to muddy, and the wildlife was abundant. I even was within 20 feet of a doe and 2 little fawns still with spots. A beautiful... More

very clean and well maintained park! Beautiful views, great place for hiking and fishing. If you love the outdoors, you'll love it her and if you would rather be indoors, there is a great casino.

This was our first visit to Rocky Gap. Decided to hike around the lake before playing a round of golf nearby. Supposedly a 5-mile trek. Definitely glad we wore our sturdy hiking shoes! The loop is closer to seven miles and if we do it again we'd start at the Lodge and go counter clockwise for about two miles. Then... More

Very impressed with this State Park and it's camping facilities! The sites were clean and easy to work with (we tent camp). The bathhouses were basically spotless - showers were well maintained and had a nice amount of privacy. The campstore was pretty basic but did what I needed it to do - have ice! Also located by the camp... More

We camped here in our RV for a few nights in August. Worked out great as a base to visit Cumberland and ride the scenic railroad. As for the campground itself, the sites are fairly private and wooded. We had a path next to our site (#10 in the Ash Loop) that led to the beach so we had quite... More

Convenient, beautiful, peaceful, park with mutliple beaches, marinas and camp sights. There are two camp stores, one which has a basic menu of to go food to eat and iems such as hibachi grills, basic supplies and even hammocks for sale.
