Stayed at the park for our annual Columbus Weekend (October 9th thru 12th) in the pet friendly "A" Loop. The fall weather was beautiful!!! The Camp site was large and we were able to put our 28 ft motorhome and a 13X8 tent on the same site. We purchased firewood at the ranger station but there were plenty of fallen... More

Walking along the water made me wish I could go boating and or stay longer. This place has a serenity that is difficult to find on the East Coast and worth the trip to this out of the way corner of the Chesapeake.

Out of all camping trips we have done with the family while residing in the state of Maryland, Janes Island have exceeded our expectations. camping sites are not only spacious but well kept, clean and have amazing water views. The bathrooms are modern and clean as well. We took the boys Kayaking and hey enjoyed sooo much that we promised... More

We drove through the Park on our way to Smith Island. Crisfield has lots of fresh fish, and if you like to camp, this park has wonderful small and large cabins -- some even have air conditioning. It was quiet on a Tuesday morning, they rent kayaks, and the views are stunning.

First, let me say that it was one of the most pleasant state park visits that I have ever had. We stayed in one of the cabins for two days in May. There are four cabins available for rent with the same price and the fourth one (which is being mentioned as the conference center) is a two story building... More

We could not have camped at a better location. The Campground is immaculate and well run. The sites overlook a canal and provides the best sunsets!!! Kayak trails across the canal are well marked. We rented a tandem and followed a trail out to an Island on the Chesapeake Bay that we pretty much had to ourselves! If you like... More

This is our second time at Janes Island. We rented a full service cabin for the week which are very reasonably priced. The log cabins are equipped with a full kitchen, air conditioning, fireplace, full bathroom and sleep up to six people. You also have a shared private pier to fish or crab with a canal right in front of... More

I need to be honest. I did not stay in the Park. I rode past it on a boat, but the park looked absolutely fantastic. All along the river can the park was full of tent camping sites and small cabins. The views were superb, the park was spotless clean, and I kept saying, "I need to come back here... More

We biked to the park, rode around, had a snack at the visitor's center and watched people crab and kayak. Would come back in a heartbeat to camp, rent kayaks/canoes, or just hang out. It's gorgeous and not well known. Shhhh!

We visited Janes Island State Park and campground for the first time this summer. We were thrilled with the campground, our camp site location and easy access to the 30+ miles of water trails and beach area on the Chesapeake Bay. The campground itself is one of the best we've stayed at - very clean, relatively small in size, quiet,... More
