Nice family beach in walking distance of downtown. There's an arcade and Goldenrod's Candy down the street.

The location of this beach is ideal, surrounded by plenty of places to eat and play. During low tide, several bars of tidal pools form which are the perfect location for families with toddlers to play. Not only is it the perfect calm water body to play in, but the sun heats it up to a comfortable temperature. There is... More

Went the week of Labor Day and had a really enjoyable time. Stayed at Sands on the Sea Motel, ate at Union Grill Pub & Guac n Role. Great, clean public restrooms. Fairly small beach (especially in comparison to long sands) but had sufficient room for the people that were there. Not sure how busy it gets in the regular... More

Short Sands Beach Like Long Sands Beach Is a nice clean place to swim and spend the day. It is smaller and is closer to the shopping area

Great beach...clean and nice. A little small at high tide so get there early. Close to a lot of things to do.

Short Sands beach is smaller but it is a beach! There is parking and a nice beach house. There is a sidewalk with benches to sit. A playground area and close to the shops and restaurants. It is very nice.

I prefer the sand and the space of the Long Sand Beach. However it's close to the arcade and a lot of good restaurants, which is perfect for families.

Beautiful beach and town. We had no trouble finding a parking spot both days we were there. The beach is very clean. Plenty of room to sit and enjoy the sun or swim in the cool water. Large clean bathrooms.

So very busy! Had a very hard time finding a parking spot; ended up paying $15 for the day to park in a field beside someone's house. After a short walk, we meandered through town enjoying the sights. It was my first time in York but he's been going for 40+ years so he knew some special spots to see... More
