Love Long Sands beach, but what little of it is left at high tide is covered in seaweed. At low tide, there is plenty of sand to walk on and a few sections of rocks that trap sea creatures. On-street parking is metered - some local land owners provide parking by the day.

This is a great beach if the tide is out. If it's high tide during the day, there is almost no place to go in the sand.

We really enjoyed watching the surfers at day break and playing on the beach during low tide. During high tide half of the beach disappears and things get really crowded! The eastern half of the beach is also covered with seaweed and you cant step in the water without being covered in it.

Great beach after season, not busy. Beautiful week in the sun. Near Nubble Lighthouse. York shopping was limited after Labor Day, but still a nice area

Amazingly huge beach at low tide! Beautiful. Don't miss it! High tide is harder to find a spot in the summer if it's crowded, but it's also great with no crowds in the off season.

I have been coming to this beach for several years. It is a 2 mile long crescent shaped beach, is a family friendly, non smoking and and beautiful spot. If you get there early enough you might find a metered parking place on the street, otherwise you will pay to park in one of lots which cost $10-20 for the... More

Very long beach, brown sand, not fluffy white. Fun to play ball on since it's so wide, at lower tides. Be sure to check the tide forecast. High tide minimized this beach to a sliver, low tide makes this beach a huge playground of fun.

Long Sands Beach is one of Southern Maine’s most-popular and prettiest beaches. Popular activities include swimming, sun bathing, surfing, and volleyball. It is located along Route 1A / Long Beach Avenue. It stretches for over 1½ miles. It is mostly sandy beach with a few tide pools and some rocky areas. Parking is along the street. There are no lots.... More

The beach was cleaned everyday for the seaweeds. The water is so cold but the sand feels like podwer and is very clean. It's the perfect beach to go for a walk or a run since it's quite long!
