We arrived in the early afternoon in time to set up camp during low tide. The water is stunning and quite clear. The beaches can get quite populated, but forget about it during high tide. The shoreline is very rocky and doesn't allow for many beach-goers during that time. The views of the coastline and houses perched on the bluffs... More

Unfortunately this beach has been taken back by Mother Nature. There is only room to set up a chair or blanket during extreme low tide. Otherwise you are forced to sit on the sidewalk or barrier rocks.

True Maine and it's incredible beauty! This one of my favorite places to see😃 Incredible scenery, very accessible, plenty of places to take great photographic pictures too remember it all. A must see on your vacation to Maine!

Very rocky shoreline. Nice beach during low tide but difficult during high tides. The lower half of Long Sands has a lot of seaweed.

Ample parking is available all across york and just off the shore. Good public bathrooms. Good shopping around. A little crowded and bustling. Recommend.

Mid-morning is a great time to arrive at this popular beach. This city beach is well-cared for, and has metered parking on the street. Within walking distance to many rental properties in York Beach it is quite popular. The water is chilly, but it proved to be a nice first ocean/beach experience for our young family...great sand for building sandcastles!

Long sands beach is the nicest beach's in new england .The town of York keeps it very clean they do not allow smoking or alcohol on the breach. We visit Long sands beach three seasons of the year. My favorite season is the fall. I Love to walk the beach early in the morning and in the evening. One problem... More

Long Sands Beach is quite long (as the name implies). Life guards are on duty, you can rent floats and umbrellas, and there are two designated surfing areas at either end of the beach. There is also a Beach House in the middle containing public bathrooms. Be aware that you will want to come early if you wish to get... More

Watch tide schedule -- when it's high tide, the water covers entire beach. Great waves, minimal seaweed, near restaurants, etc.
