The zoo is a good choice for young children

Although I live within an hour of the zoo I had never visited. I took a 5 year old girl and almost 7 year old boy. The girl definitely enjoyed it more. It was just a bit boring... read more

We love coming here! There are lions and tigers and dear, oh my! Seriously though, there's a nice variety of animals including those mentioned above, kangaroo, lots of monkeys, lemurs, parrots, tame ducks, zebras, and more. There are camel rides for $5, paddle boats, and a really great butterfly house. The amusement park is a bit seedy but a lot of... More

My 8 yo requested to go here and he loved it! We spent hours walking the zoo. The fun park area left me a little disappointed as was the 16 yo, but the 8 yo had fun in the fun houses.

Although I live within an hour of the zoo I had never visited. I took a 5 year old girl and almost 7 year old boy. The girl definitely enjoyed it more. It was just a bit boring for the boy. They each had a camera and enjoyed taking pictures. She had a pony ride and he had a camel... More

We stopped in for a quick hour or so visit with our two year old after going to the light house. We parked in the wrong parking lot I guess for the zoo so we had to walk through the whole park, which was very run down looking. Rides looked rough and buildings were run down. We went straight to... More

If you are already in York maybe stop in, you don't need to pay to enter then amusement park area. We love carnival games and they are CHEAP here $1! The rides are pretty poor, but we only did the carousel, also cheap $1.50 per ride, but since i was riding with my daughter (14 months) i was free. A... More

I hate to be a buzz kill but this place is disgusting. Not only is it old (someone said "vintage" but that's being kind) and dirty (trash in the parks, food encrusted picnic tables ,unsanitary rest rooms, animal waste everywhere) but it smelled like raw sewage (all the duck poop I would imagine). The paddle boat ride was the most... More

My extended family and friends stayed right on short sands so the park was within walking distance. We purchased the zoo pass at first (you have the option to come back later in the day to add on the fun park pass) and the kids really enjoyed the animals but to an adult they were just okay. The butterfly adventure... More

This zoo is nice, well laid out, but is missing some of the 'favorites', such as giraffes, rhinos, elephants, But the price was right, and we had a good time. It was really hot the day we went, so kept hiding in the shade to cool off! The amusement ride part of the zoo is for little kids - I... More

We revisited York Animal Kingdom this year on a rather overcast day so there were not many people there. We bought just the zoo admission not knowing what the weather would do. You are able to upgrade your tickets later for about $9 for the ride adder. If your over 48" there are only a couple of rides for you... More

This is in no way a world class joint, but if your within a half hours drive, its not a bad way to spend the afternoon. The rides are mostly for little kids and all seem very old but run fine. Games are only a dollar each and staff was friendly. The zoo was better but nothing special, really lacked... More
