The Schoodic Peninsula is one of our favorite destinations in Downeast Maine. Known as the quieter part of Acadia NP, you will find stunning views, a great road for biking (one way traffic), and some great little hikes. We usually pack a picnic lunch and eat it while watching the waves break over the granite rocks at the tip of... More

Love this mountain. If you take the trail from the parking area, it's challenging but you don't have to be a mountain climber to get to the top. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a 360 degree view.

We go every year and it's still enjoyable. There are so many picnic areas and places to explore. This year we finally hiked to the top of Schoodic Mtn and were not disappointed. We had heard that the view is partially obstructed by tree but once we reached the top it wasn't as bad as we were anticipating. There is... More

Its much more beautiful, a rugged beauty, compared to the main Acadia Park. The rugged shore line and waves, the forests, the mountains, the harbour.. all made it special

Schoodic is the part of Acadia where few people venture which makes it so nice to walk or drive around. The hike up Schoodic is easy and short and has great views of the rocky coast and ocean. You are unlikely to see other people so it is very peaceful

The trails were beautiful. However, the rain, wet leaves and moss made some parts a little more interesting than others.

Just a short distance from the Bluff Huse Inn, You can picnic, hike or just bring a chair and enjoy the views from the Schoodic Point. Unbelievable crashing surf when the water is rough or a storm is blowing in. Great hiking trails that are even good for small children. Watch the children on the rocks, it is beautiful and... More

A bit of a climb on rocky faces but worth the view. Best approached from either the new Downeast Sunrise Trail by bike or from the Donnell Pond beach side but the trail to the trailhead from this side is not bike friendly. DO NOT make the common mistake of taking the trail to Schoodic Nubble as you will have... More

This is a great hike... especially the "anvil" section if you're brave. It's much quieter than the Mt Desert side of Acadia. Loved it.
