We walked for hours - what a view. Water was still warm enough to walk in the water and pretend that it's still Summer!!!

Loved the beach walk, but found it not disability accessible to get to the beach itself. Only stairs that had uneven risers. Wish there were ramps for that access.

It certainly wasn't beach weather as it was the end of Sept. but we still enjoyed walking the beach and enjoying the ocean. It is a very clean beach and know we'd enjoy it in the summer.

What a nice beach! We stopped here during low tide, and the water was an amazing blue color and very beautiful. The beach was really pretty. The little shops at the entrance to the beach were very quaint and the staffs very friendly. We also visited a nature preserve nearby that was absolutely beautiful with the fall leaves. This beach... We'd heard this was one of the beaches in Maine with the most sand, and it seemed like it! Small town atmosphere adds to the unique scenery in the area.

The section of Wells Beach north of Mile Road to the jetty is classic wide Maine beach, great walking sand and that fresh feel from the always chilly ocean. Some points to consider though! The area around the hotels gets crowded in July and August The same area has a disappearing beach at high tide Accommodations on the beach are... More

After lunch at the Clam Shanty, we took a ride down to the beach. Our off-season visit was right after a rainstorm that must have been more powerful out to see because three-foot waves in the incoming tide were coming in fast and breaking long before getting to shore. It was quite a spectacle. Locals were lined up on benches... More

The tide was high when we visited, so there was not really any beach to walk on. It was very rocky there and most of the several people we saw were just sitting around trying to keep warm.

Wells Beach has so much to offer. Lets talk about the Harbor/Jetty end of the beach, it never is full of people, the boats are fun to watch, the jetty is fun to walk on, you can take a wheelchair out as they have a boardwalk that takes you to the beach and jetty. You can fish off the jetty,... More

THERE ISN'T ANYTHING TO DISLIKE. Go star gazing. See the sunrise and sunset. Enjoy the long walks and watch the tides come in and go out.
