The views are amazing on this hike. We've hiked all the trails on the island and this is by far the most scenic. A close second would be Barred Island. It's a little hard to find but well worth the trouble.

We go here at least once a year with our kids. The beauty of this hike is the option to take a short cut, or the full trail. It is well maintained and is quite breathtaking in some areas. One of our favorite trails on the island.

We have hike this preserve a number of times. It has great shore trails where you can watch eagles, osprey, other birds. Wonderful hike/walk along the beautiful Maine coast. Do it every summer. All the preserves are beautiful, but this is very special.

You would be nuts to visit Deer Isle without doing this gorgeous, easy waterfront walk. Do Barred Island walk too. Enjoy!

If you like to hike in mossy woods, and love the rocky shore and views of islands dotting the distance, you get both here. If you don't like tree roots across the trail, then don't come, but you'll be missing an incredible experience. Dogs are welcome on leashes.
