I like to visit Quiet Side Cafe whenever I visit Bar Harbor. I ride the Island Explorer over to Southwest Harbor and have lunch here. The owners are very nice and the food is good. I think more than anything I just like the feel of the place :) comfortable and cozy inside, breezy and open outside.

Among the many "touristy" places that offer the usual lobster roll and pizza, is this local, "homey" feeling, eatery. The most wonderful lobster roll, BLT sub, and greek pizza. Me, my husband and my sister went several times during our stay on MDI and every single time we were greeted warmly, served with a smile, and made to feel like... More

Before exploring the far end of Acadia National Park, we stopped in here for lunch and we were not disappointed. My wife had a wrap and I had a pastrami sandwich and both were really good. My daughter loved the Islander Special pizza which is loaded with lobster, crab and shrimp all sauteed in garlic butter. Although we were all... More

My wife and I, each, had a delicious lobster salad, which had lots of tasty lobster. It was one of the best of several lobster dishes we had during our two weeks in Maine. We capped it off with wonderful ice cream desserts: I had a sundae and my wife had a 2-scoop cone.

We were really in the mood for a pizza, and this was yummy. Not fancy, but cooked well and the crust was great. A nice little shop to sit down and enjoy a meal after a day of vacationing and hiking.

We came in here on the spur of the moment, tired and hungry. We were so surprised by how great the food is, and the staff is so nice and friendly! We ended up back there a few days later to get more of their fabulous fish chowder, and other's in our party went back later for their pizza which... More

Frances and Ralph Reed are two of the nicest folks I know; dedicated to providing great food, mostly home-made, and serving with smiles. The broad menu accommodates all types of appetites and has the best apple and blueberry pies ever! Ice cream of all kinds finish out the meal--assuming you still have room. I am always thrilled when they reopen... More

Every offering on the menu uses the highest qualty ingredients, prepared carefully, and served quickly and attentively always. Always hard to decide among the wide selection. Good value compared to so many other alternatives from a real part of the community.

Outstanding food and the VERY best service. Family owned and operated and the family are all worth knowing. Key Lime Pie? The best chocolate crusted pie I ever tasted. Very eclectic menu seafood, bbq, cookies, ICECREAM. Go meet the folks before they head back to Florida.

We happened upon the Quite Side Cafe & Ice Cream Shop one day while passing through, and are truly grateful we stopped. We spent two weeks in Maine, and most days, we made it a point to eat a meal here. Not only is the food fresh and tastes great, but the owners are lovely, kind and family- oriented. They... More
