These guys know how to do it right. Very professional and safety conscious but very mindful that the trip is a fun adventure! Our Maine Guide, Allison, was the best! She was incredibly knowledgeable about paddling and passed on this knowledge very clearly and with ease and confidence that made our group, including me (who has a "healthy fear" of... More

Went on a 4 hour tour from 10-2 on Sunday. Our guide Brad was great, full of information about the scenery and wildlife. We saw plenty of native birds, especially Osprey which caught a couple of fish as we were kayaking. Also were lucky enough to see some porpoise which came within maybe 15 feet from some of us. The... Our guide Brad had us well equipped and instructed quickly so we were ready to enjoy our paddle through Bartlett Narrows to Black Island. He was funny and friendly, as well as very well informed about the wildlife. We saw seals, harbor porpoises, osprey, and an eagle's nest. The sea was calm and the scenery gorgeous. We were in tandem... More

My wife and I took an afternoon group kayaking trip with ME State Kayak in July; it was one of the highlights of our week long stay on the island. Ahead of the trip I had several questions, which the staff answered very thoroughly and with great patience. The trip itself was run well - timely, with a fun/light-hearted staff... More

Our guide, Liew, was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. He gave us the best paddling instruction i have received to date, so I finally learned how to paddle without so much effort. He took us out to Bartlett's Island, where we picnicked in a lovely cove. We saw dolphins and ospreys and at least a couple of... More

Our Maine State Sea Kayak tour featured a friendly, skillful and knowledgable guide. She was also extremely helpful when needed. I liked that our tour group was limited to 6 guest kayaks (2 people to a kayak). We saw another tour group enter the water before we did (and we never saw them afterwards) that had about a dozen kayaks-... More

My first sea kayak experience. Surprisingly calm waters. Saw seals and eagle. Great guide who not only made the trip fun, but also provided great instruction. They provide water shoes, hat, dry bag if you don't have one.

We were super lucky to get a spot on a sea kayaking trip due to a last minute cancellation. So book early! Brad was our guide and he was terrific. He was informative, fun and truly demonstrated a love of paddling. The trip route was perfect, and with wind at our backs, we had a super enjoyable time paddling, spotting... More

Our sea kayak experience was our first sea, or any other, kayak experience. We spent 3 1/2 hours on the water. The experience was one that I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys the natural beauty of the world around us.
