My wife Lynda and son Matthew and I decided on a 3 day sailing trip through the Maine Islands on a Windjammer called the Timberwind. The reason my wife chose this boat vs. the others in the fleet was the fact the Captain had a daughter my sons age and others who had children on the boat. Well, this was... More

My husband and I just got back from our second trip on Timberwind. I am so in love with this beautiful vessel and feel so grateful that Captain Bob shares her with us. Already planning for the next trip as soon as I possibly can.

Just back from a surprise (for my wife) long weekend cruise on the Timberwind. Great crew, classic well-mannered but spritied vessel and an thoughful captain. After a first-day weather washout, Bob responded with extended days of sailing for the next two under picture-perfect skies and fresh winds. For my wife this was a threshold experience and the way the entire... More

I was looking for a way to introduce my three children (ages 10-14) to the coast of Maine and came across the TimberWind. I could not have made a better decision. I have been sailing most if my life, but my wife had never spent a night at sea. I was a bit nervous about this and sharing a small... More

The boat, crew and food exceeded our expectations. The home cooked meals featured local fare, including an authentic lobster bake on an island; the scenery was exquisite; and the crew was capable, funny and friendly. My husband, two grown children and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with Captain Bob aboard his beloved Timberwind.'

Just returned from a cruise on Timberwind. We had great weather. Sailed most of the day Friday. Had a great Lobsta feast on Warren Island. Followed up with another great sail down to Rockland on Saturday. Crew and Captain were excellent, especially putting up with our grand children who were into everything and sometimes were a bit tired and crabby.... More

Last weekend a gang of 8 went out with Captain BOB. Friday we had a great clam bake outside at a state Park on the water. Thereafter, it rained pretty much the rest of the time. Despite the weather, we were entertained by the crew with great sailing, exceptional food, and the captain's stories. For me, one of the best... More

Just got home from, as I mentioned in the title, my third cruise on the grand old Timberwind. Beautiful old vessel lovingly cared for, Capt and crew topnotch (best crew so far) and the food, prepared on the wood stove down in the galley was superb, as in, how does this guy turn these meals out down below (best chef... The crew was wonderful, the food cooked from scratch and delicious, the scenery gorgeous. I'll definitely go again.
