I've tried for 10 days to buy tickets for the Monty Python show, thru website (confusing, convoluted, wouldn't accept my email address/password the 4 times I tried), by phone (recording gives you rapid-fire days and times--each day has different times-- when some human MIGHT actually answer the phone--never worked for me-- left message, even after recording told me this extension... The Strand Theater is a quaint, vintage theater that uplifts the culture of the town. They frequently host concerts, independent films, regular movies, and even operas from the Met. The quality of these are very high, but as are the prices. The only prices that are outrageous are for concessions. When I go for a night out I expect to... More

3D movies look great, clean and friendly staff, it's a little pricey but that's to expect at a movie theater

This is a great venue! I've seen concerts here and movies and they've all been great. This place has so much character and they do a great job getting a variety of events. They also have more than your typical "movie theater snacks" including wine :)

Nice clean theater with lots of history. The seats were comfortable and the films offered were good. The lobby was classic. They offer plays, concerts, and other entertainment as well.

Refurbished to its grand days with super good digital sound and viewing. Sit in the front row of the balcony for best effect and be sure to grab the Carmel corn! Also has live performances throughout the year.

The Strand is GRAND - a grand old theater from yesteryear. It is clean and nifty and everything you would expect an old grand theater to be. I wished I lived in the area because I would go to a lot of shows and events. It is an intimate and relaxed theater but it is very well maintained and there... More

We went in January, with the new digital projectors, to see "Philomena" with Judi Dench. The quality of the film was great, although it bothered my mother's eyes and she went to sit further back. Nice sound, nice seats, and they had cup holders. We bought nonpareilles and they weren't too outrageous. Water fountains down in the basement next to... More
