To those of us of a certain age stepping into the Strand is akin to revisiting our childhood, a time before multiplexes. The physical plant appears to be in wonderful shape. The offerings from movies to simulcasts to live performances run the gamut of tastes. I suspect everyone would find at least one event they'd like to attend. This being... More

I saw Carman last month and am going to see The Barber of Saville tomorrow. Just a real treat here in a smallish town on the coast. I love the fact that because it's streaming you get close-ups of the performers and interviews. Very interesting and really ads to the experience.

We attended a Bob Marley show at the strand in July and loved it! Not only was the atmosphere inviting but it had an old school feel to it. Also for those 21+ you can go upstairs and have drinks while watching the movie or performance. Overall a great place.

Lots of interesting events and movies, audiences that know how to be quiet and good popcorn. What more could you ask for?

As a community we are blessed to have the Strand with the high caliber of movies, live shows, HD performances, etc. that it offers. I could rave on and on and it still would not be enough!

I've tried for 10 days to buy tickets for the Monty Python show, thru website (confusing, convoluted, wouldn't accept my email address/password the 4 times I tried), by phone (recording gives you rapid-fire days and times--each day has different times-- when some human MIGHT actually answer the phone--never worked for me-- left message, even after recording told me this extension... The Strand Theater is a quaint, vintage theater that uplifts the culture of the town. They frequently host concerts, independent films, regular movies, and even operas from the Met. The quality of these are very high, but as are the prices. The only prices that are outrageous are for concessions. When I go for a night out I expect to... More

3D movies look great, clean and friendly staff, it's a little pricey but that's to expect at a movie theater

This is a great venue! I've seen concerts here and movies and they've all been great. This place has so much character and they do a great job getting a variety of events. They also have more than your typical "movie theater snacks" including wine :)

Nice clean theater with lots of history. The seats were comfortable and the films offered were good. The lobby was classic. They offer plays, concerts, and other entertainment as well.
