We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the lighthouse. Walking out there the one mile on those rocks with crevaces was a bit challenging and you couldn't enjoy the walk for fear of falling IN! But the air and weather were great and though a challenging walk I wouldn't have missed it!

My kids and I loved walking the breakwater! For them walking on rocks was way cooler than just a bridge. The views are beautiful and exercise in nature is always a plus!

Our boys and I had a wonderful family walk. Great views of the harbor on a beautiful morning. A must see while visiting Rockland.

Fantastic walk along the breakwater out to the lighthouse - so peaceful being by the water and it's got some amazing views. Just watch out for the wind and some tipsy rocks!

Breakwater is an engineering marvel. Almost 1 mile to reach the light. Stunning views of harbor & bay. Schooners and pleasure yachts coming and going. Wear sturdy shoes and take care stepping over the seams between the huge granite blocks.

Very nice walk to lighthouse. Our daughters liked the seals that pops up once and awhile. People with limited ability to walk and hop-around should avoid the walk to the lighthouse.

Perfect hiking spot for adults on a sunny day! The ligthouse was open so we climbed to the top of that too! The walk isn't strenuous but we saw a dog injured from too wide spacing of granite slabs to get all 4 legs over without slipping in. And a child stumbled & got hurt. The views are outstanding &... My husband and I walked to the lighthouse this morning. It is a bit of a hike and I would recommend good walking shoes as you are walking on large chunks of granite with cracks in between. Today we saw a harbor seal sunning itself on the rocks, two beautiful sailboats rounding the corner of the lighthouse, and lobstermen checking... More

Last year, we walked the nearly mile long jetty to the Breakwater Lighthouse. It was windy and cold, so we decided to do the walk this year under warmer conditions (65-70). It was a great walk. You need to be really careful, walking along the jetty because there were many gaps between the boulders. Sneakers are a must as well.... More

The walk is approx 1 mile out into the harbor and it's a easy one. Do be mindful of your foot placement as there are gaps and "crevices" . Also keep an eye on the tide or you could potentially be sitting and waiting to get back should it be higher than usual! Unfortunately the light house it self was... More
