Description: Lucky Catch Cruises offers 1 1/2 hour lobstering excursions in Casco Bay...
Lucky Catch Cruises offers 1 1/2 hour lobstering excursions in Casco Bay, Maine. The tours depart from Long Wharf in Portland and operate from the first weekend of May through the last weekend of October. A typical lobster excursion involves pulling eight traps near scenery such as the Portland Headlight Lighthouse, Civil War Fort Gorges and the Seal Rocks. Lobsters can be purchased after the tour for a discounted price and brought to the restaurant next door for cooking. We limit the number of passengers on each boat, so please call ahead for reservations. All the best from Maine!

We have taken this cruise twice. What a fun idea...to go on an actual lobstering expedition. You don the garb...rubber pants and jackets...you haul up the traps and you measure the lobster catch for legal sizes...and you put the elastic bands (with a neat device) on the very lively claws. Crew/staff are all wonderfully knowledgeable and informative in such a... More

We visited over Memorial day week. The crew was extremely friendly and informative. I can't think of any way this could have been a better trip.

Thank you for this great experience letting us set traps and pull up lobsters on your boat. You did an excellent job letting all 18 of us take part on this fun cruise.. Next best part was walking off the boat with lobsters in hand and having them cooked at the Portland Lobster Company into a complete meal for only... More

Don't miss going out on Cosco Bay with Lucky Catch on their lobster boat. We really learned a lot about lobsters from the captain and first mate who really gave us an informative narrative. Our time with Lucky Catch help make our visit to Maine very memorable. It was great fun and I highly recommend this tour for folks of... More

It was a fabulous time with knowledgeable Lobstermen. Suitable for all ages - we baited traps, checked traps and had an amazing afternoon on Cosco Bay. Probably my favorite tourist experience ever. Because you don't feel like a tourist! You're a lobsterman!

We knew when we visited Maine we wanted to go Lobstering. I found Lucky Catch during a Google search and we called them up and made our reservations. We were informed upon booking that they only take cash, which was great to know so we could be prepared. We even got a call the day of the tour to confirm... More

This tour was amazing! We went out on the lobster boat and went hunting for lobster. The captain and first mate were wonderful. They were well informed and funny. They involved us in every part of lobster hunting. I had so much fun. One of the best vacation activities ever!!!

If you are even remotely interested in lobster fishing, or just lobsters themselves, I highly recommend this excursion! It was both a fascinating and educational experience to don a fishermen’s apron and participate in hauling and re-baiting traps, as well as to learn about lobsters in general – from determining their gender to determining if they were “keepers” or “throwbacks.”... I found Lucky Catch online and booked them directly while I was on a Fall Foliage cruise. This is a real winner. The crew is super friendly and knowledgable. The experience and scenery can't be beat, plus you'll see most of the same lighthouses and sights as the more expensive ship-sold excursions. Tons of fun and a bargain at $30/person.... More

This was a highlight of our northeast vacation. The trip was fun because the crew gets everyone involved in pulling traps out of the water, putting rubber bands on the lobster claws and getting the food ready for the trap - and its informative because of all the fun lobster facts the crew shares with the group. In addition to... More
