The tours depart from Long Wharf in Portland and operate from the first weekend of May through the last weekend of October. A typical lobster excursion involves pulling eight traps near scenery such as the Portland Headlight Lighthouse, Civil War Fort Gorges and the Seal Rocks. Lobsters can be purchased after the tour for a discounted price and brought to the restaurant next door for cooking. We limit the number of passengers on each boat, so please call ahead for reservations. All the best from Maine! « less

This a cool tour. I would think that children would enjoy this the most. The crew was very good knowledgeable and allowed the passengers to actively participate in hauling lobster traps. I think that perhaps my expectations might have been a little too high or maybe I was expecting something just a little different. You can buy the lobsters you... More

Very nice trip. Make sure you have a reservation. The trip is on a small lobster inchoate. You got to wear a lobstering suit and even the children can help the captain. The lobsters you catch can be bought for a tiny price and can be cooked at the beginning of the pier.

This was our favorite! The price is so reasonable, too! $30 each for me & my husband, $25 for our teenagers. The boat was so clean, the crew so friendly. They only take out a certain few at a time so it wasn't crowded. It was a very hands-on tour. We helped place the rubber bands on the lobster claws.... More

We had a fantastic time on this cruise. I called to book the cruise and spoke with Captain Tom who was extremely informative and pleasant. When we arrived the company is very organized and punctual. My husband and I and our four kids, ages 18, 17, 16 and 13, had a memorable time on the boat. The kids were able... More

The boat only takes about 15-20 passengers at a time. Everyone is involved in baiting the traps, pushing the traps over the side, removing and measuring the lobsters. The captain, and the mates were very good on explaining the process, how they are harvested, and the regulations of what can be kept. The tour of the forts, and lighthouses was... More

I am sure this cruise is wonderful, however we won't know. I reserved our spot on the boat several days in advance and based our Maine vacation on that reservation. We were horribly disappointed when we found out at 5:30 that our 5:30 cruise was canceled due to faulty boating equipment. We can't get our day in Maine back nor... More

Our family absolutely loved this. Kids ages 10, 6, 7 were able to help and participate with all activities- they loved wearing the aprons and gloves. The 3 staff on board were extremely knowledgable about everything on the boat as well as all of the sights that we saw on the tour. Stopped by seal rock and got to see... More

My husband and I come to Portland annually and have taken our kids on this cruise around the Casco Bay. My husband liked it so much we went this year without the kids and had just as much fun. Captain Tom and his crew are knowledgeable fishermen and women. Additionally, they have great people skills, including everyone in hands -on... More

Though we did not catch many lobsters the day we cruised, we had a great time aboard the Lucky Catch. The view of the harbor was outstanding! We enjoyed the commentary about lobster fishing and the history behind it. It was neat to be able to help bait and reset the lobster traps. When we returned we were able to... More
