Description: Lucky Catch Cruises offers 1 1/2 hour lobstering excursions in Casco Bay...
Lucky Catch Cruises offers 1 1/2 hour lobstering excursions in Casco Bay, Maine. The tours depart from Long Wharf in Portland and operate from the first weekend of May through the last weekend of October. A typical lobster excursion involves pulling eight traps near scenery such as the Portland Headlight Lighthouse, Civil War Fort Gorges and the Seal Rocks. Lobsters can be purchased after the tour for a discounted price and brought to the restaurant next door for cooking. We limit the number of passengers on each boat, so please call ahead for reservations. All the best from Maine!

Did this tour in August 2013 with just my fiancé and myself and had so many memories I could not list them all. Capt Dave was the captain on that tour and he did an AMAZING job!!! We did the 5:30 tour at that time. Fast forward to July 2015, we brought our 20 year old and 11 year old... More

We went out on the bay and got to learn about how the lobsters are caught, saw some beautiful light houses and you get to buy the lobsters you catch for a great price. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

Great cruise, gorgeous views and yummy fresh lobsters! Captain Tom was awesome, he and Jessica explained everything you need to know about lobsters and catching them. It's also nice that they get all passengers involved. We were able to buy a fresh lobster that was caught on our trip and have it cooked at Portland lobster company, yum! It was... More

I did the Seal Island one. The captain and his helpers are really the best guide that I have seen on tours. They are attentive to everyone and make sure everyone is involved. They give a lot of information and give everyone opportunity to measure the lobster, clip the rubber band on the claw etc. There were over 5 kids... More

We had a wonderful cruise departing at 10:30 am, the Portland headlight cruise. Captain Tom and his two assistants explained the seasons, everything in the traps that were pulled and told us about historical landmarks on the islands and the mainland as well. Great time for adults and families. They have 3 different cruises but we picked ours because of... More

Maine is known for its lobster. Many visitors only eat part of the lobsters (claws and tail). Well the body holds delicious nuggets of meat, but you need to get into Darryl Hannah mode and eat like a mermaid would! So the Lucky Catch is a great tour that gives you interesting information on lobstering and Casco Bay! You can... More

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Portland. The captain and his assistants were very nice and informative for both adults and children. Everyone had the chance to participate in the lobstering process. The crew basically forced you to help and be active. Fun for adults and the kids on the boat. There were more adults only... More

The Lucky Catch is a fun time not only for kids but adults as well. When we have guests we offer going out on a Lobster Boat as an option. To date all of our family and friends have had a good time. The Lucky Catch has multiple locations and boats so it hasn't been the same for us every... More

Eight of us were on a fall colors cruise with a stop in Portland. My wife and I decided to make an excursion on the Lucky Catch on our day in port. We had about a dozen people on the boat including children. Delightfully educational hour and a half. We learned about lobstering, how to bait lobster traps, what lobsters... More

Had great time learning about lobster catching with my family. My 17 year old was entertained by the experience. Nice small group of people that brightened up a very foggy day in Portland. We pulled up several lobster cages with lobster in them. We saw a female with eggs that apparently is not a common find. In addition, we saw... More
