Description: Lucky Catch Cruises offers 1 1/2 hour lobstering excursions in Casco Bay...
Lucky Catch Cruises offers 1 1/2 hour lobstering excursions in Casco Bay, Maine. The tours depart from Long Wharf in Portland and operate from the first weekend of May through the last weekend of October. A typical lobster excursion involves pulling eight traps near scenery such as the Portland Headlight Lighthouse, Civil War Fort Gorges and the Seal Rocks. Lobsters can be purchased after the tour for a discounted price and brought to the restaurant next door for cooking. We limit the number of passengers on each boat, so please call ahead for reservations. All the best from Maine!

Small groups, fabulous atmosphere, knowledgable & enthusiastic crew... this lobster boat cruise did not disappoint. While not a romantic or sophisticated way to experience the water and see the sights from the water, I am so glad we went with this trip. It was helpful to learn about lobstering and the history of the city early on in our trip.... More

We had such a wonderful time here as a family. The staff on the boat was so informative and friendly it really made for a great experience. We had hands-on with lobsters, crabs, baiting the traps, pushing the traps in the water and feeding the seagulls. We saw a lot of wildlife! I would recommend this to ANYONE and would... More

I'm not one to do a lot of real touristy things but hey, the weather was nice and it was a chance to get out on the water. Well, this is one of those things that yes may be touristy, but was actually informative and yes you get out on the water. Nice group sizes (ours was 10). Very kid... More

We took a Concord bus from South Station in Boston to Portland at 8 am. Buying a return day ticket on the day itself is cheaper ($32). Concord bus is the best of the four bus trips we took on our three weeks trip, both in terms of the facilities on the bus and the service. The journey was very... More

What a great trip. The price was fine for the time on the water. Captain Tom and his Mates were fantastic. Very nice to all the kids on board. We didn't catch many keepers but they were very informative about things in the bay that you would see. The seals on the rocks were cute. It was fun getting everyone... More

We took our boys aged 8 and 12 and loved it! The kids got to pull up the traps, bait them, measure the lobsters, and shove the traps off the boat. Captain Steph and deckhand Maureen were fun and friendly and they taught us lots. Loved the views and the seals we saw, too. Short and sweet... 90 minutes...just the... More

This is such a fun experience!! We wanted to experience lobstering, and that’s exactly what we got to do! The crew was so fantastic! The captain did such a good job driving - it was so smooth! We stood nearly the entire trip with no problems at all. And the other 2 crew members did such a fantastic job explaining... More

Our trip was on a chilly day but thankfully the rain held off. We learned about the trade of a Lobster"man" while actually helping to pull-in, bait and toss the traps back in the water. Each person on board had the opportunity to help. We only got one large enough to keep but we were shown how to measure and... More

Had read many great reviews on this and so happy we went, absolutely loved it! Only 60$ for two people and an unforgettable experience. There were about 12 of us on the boat and everyone had the chance to participate in the experience. You get to wear a set of gloves and an apron/pants to prevent your clothes from getting... More

You're in Maine! If you want to learn all about lobster fishing, if you want to try it firsthand with the experts this is the thing to do! This was one of the best experiences during my trip to Portland. You can catch the lobster and then buy it! You can bring it to Portland Lobster Co where they will... More
