I loved all the ground we covered in the land tour. The open air trolley was great for taking pictures and feeling like a part of your surroundings. Unfortunately our guide, Tyler, only spoke in a monotone. No inflections. That caused not only a problem to hear him over city noise but it kinda made me nod off on occasion...and... More

We booked this tour online from home at a cost of $44 per person. The tour included a tour of the harbor by boat, and a trolley tour of the city. Of all the shore excursions we’ve ever taken, this was the best value. The cost was more than reasonable, and the tours themselves were narrated by guides who were... More

Very knowledgable and entertaining guide! We really enjoyed the tour (land only). I had called the night before to ask about buying tickets at the site of the tour. I was informed that there were cruise ships in town, but they were adding extra tours and we shouldn't have to wait more than 15 minutes. Well, we arrived at 10:45... More

Hi Gammy, Thanks for joining us and sorry for the misinformation on the tour time. We are not able to take reservations over the phone when we have large cruise ships in, so we always encourage people to purchase tickets online, if possible. This way you know you have seats on a particular tour time. If this isn't possible, the... More

The tour was in two parts - by bus around the city, then by boat in and around the harbor. Both parts were well structured, informative and enjoyable. In both cases, the guides were well-informed and articulate. The land guide, a raconteur who calls himself "JJ," was especially enjoyable. Without ever looking like he needed our applause or laughter, he... More

It looked a little "touristy" from the beginning, but they more than made up for it on the tour. Excellent tour guide, informative, knowledgeable. Good tour route...lots to see in a short time. We specifically wanted to see and photograph lighthouses, wow, were we on the right boat. You get "up close and personal" with a number of lighthouses...and get... More

Hi MN736, Thanks for the nice words and feedback. We try to go above and beyond with the tour content and routes and a lot of that does fall on our deckhands doing their homework and our captains knowing the Bay well. As long as it's a relatively calm day we can usually get really close to many of the... More

We did the combined land and sea tour. It was wonderful. Both tours were thorough and full of knowledge. The guides were well informed and very knowledgeable about everything. They were very funny as well. Do both tours if you can, the full experience of Maine is wonderful!!!

Hi Pooja, Thanks for the nice review! We do have a great crew year after year, and they really enjoy the history, telling stories, and showing off Casco Bay. Thanks for the recommendation and for joining us. More

Great tour. The captain was great as he avoided choppy waters. The tour guide was great, too. He did point out too many estates owned by very rich people. A little less of that would have been better.

Hi Gael, Glad you enjoyed the tour. Our captains are pretty good at what they do, and along with safe navigation, can usually find some seals, ospreys or a bald eagle or two as well. The homes you refer to are along the Cape Elizabeth coastline en route to Portland Head Light lighthouse, as there are some real beauties there.... More

Our cruise ship stopped In Portland, Maine on a New England/Canada cruise. We took both the city trolley and harbor tour. The harbor tour was enjoyable. There was informative commentary on the upper deck. It was chilly that day, but we could warm up on the lower deck. There were great views of lighthouses and homes. The 3:30 pm land... More

Hi Terri, Thanks for taking both of our tours and we're happy hear you enjoyed them. It can get quite chilly on the water and usually people do start out on the upper deck but then move downstairs pretty quickly once we get out on the bay! Portland Head Light is the quintessential Maine lighthouse and a highlight for many.... More

Portland was my favorite cruise port on a recent Canada/New England Carnival Cruise. This quaint fishing village had wonderful shopping, excellent eateries and historic sites. The city trolley tour was very insightful - beautiful Victorian and historic homes, waterfront, historic battlesites. The harbor cruise was an excellent waterfront tour with good commentary on the upper deck, and, for the very... More

We took the Lighthouse Lover's cruise and were so happy we did. We had no idea how much history there was in and around Casco Bay. Our tour narrator was knowledgeable and informative. When the chilly fall wind whipped up he got out blankets for all who needed one. The boat was comfortable. We started up on the top deck... More

Hi Michelle, Thanks for the review and the recommendation! So many people, locals included, don't realize how much interesting history we have on Casco Bay. We try to encourage people to dress warm even on the warmer of days, but do usually have those blankets on board too, just in case. Thanks again for joining us and nice photos too! More
