We took the Sunset Lighthouse Cruise and it could not have been more perfect. We lucked out with warm, great weather and we learned a lot about Portland and the surrounding islands. We got to Portland Head Light at the perfect time for sunset. I really enjoyed this a lot and it was the perfect start to a date night.

We went on the sunset cruise and it was beautiful! We were able to see all 4 lighthouses, seals, osprey, bald eagle, the fort and so much more! It was a well done narrated cruise for 1 1/2 hours...just enough. Take a warm sweater just in case...you want to be comfortable. We sat on the upper deck at the back...great... More

The Lighthouse Lover’s cruise is a perfect way to see some lighthouses by water without having to take a cruise that lasts four hours or more. Our ninety-minute cruise only cost $24. The cruise included four lighthouses and provided a great deal of information about Casco Bay. The guide was very knowledgeable about the entire region and did a professional... More

Our tour guide, Doug (Ruggles), the UB alumni and ex-NYC taxi driver was the best. He was so funny and knowledgeable about the tour he gave. Gave us lots of advice of where to go and what to do. His side stories and songs were the best. He made the whole tour worthwhile. My teenage daughter said his tour was... More

Hi Dawn, Thanks for the great review on the Portland City and Lighthouse Tour and for the kind words on Doug! I'll make sure he sees it. The drivers/guides say it makes it all worthwhile to read reviews like these. Thanks again for taking the time to write it! More

This little cruise around Portland bay appears to be a good and interesting way of spending a few hours but before you fork out the money read on! If you have children (we had four) give this cruise a miss. The cost per child is nearly as much as for an adult. There really isn't much that will delight you... More

Hi Dannydal, Sorry to hear you didn't think the tour was worth the money as most people feel it's a pretty good value and most with children tell us they had a good time. A couple clarifications: the cruise is 90-minutes, and children under 3 ride for free. In regards to the sights on the cruise, we're actually happy to... More

we did the combo trolley/ boat tour, which they will split on different days if you like. we choose the shorter versions, at $36 a piece. The trolley scooted around town with probably the best narrator I've had on this sort of thing. He was interesting and witty, and started & stopped right on schedule. The sea leg of the... More

We were recently in Portland and did the 45 minute city tour on the Trolley. Our tour guide was very nice and informative - also answering any questions we had. The tour was fun and interesting - giving us the history of the city and pointing out interesting sites and giving us plenty of time to take pictures. Fun way... More

If you've never been to Portland, I would recommend a trolley tour to familiarize yourself with the lay of the land. This tour was a nice way to spend time with my 3 year old granddaughter and learn more about Portland. I would have preferred more history and less commercial information but still worthwhile.

Hi kthomasva, Thanks for this review and for the recommendation! We always hope that the tour will give someone a good overview of where things are within the city, hopefully with some historical context too. We do mix the history with facts on commerce as well, and how much of which can vary depending on your guide. Glad to hear... More

We did the land & sea tours. Had perfect weather, and excellent narrators on both the boat & the trolley. This is a must do if you want to see portland & learn about the area & history. JJ the trolley driver was informative & funny.

I took the combination tour, first the trolley and then the lighthouse lover cruise. Both were terrific! Very informative. The trolley guide was entertaining and full of information. The cruise shared some similar information but gave a different view of Portland. Staff was great for both! I recommend both. I also recommend bringing a sweater!

Hi KimEC, Thanks for the 5 "star" review and for taking both tours! We try to give you a lot of information on Portland and Casco Bay and still make it fun! Thanks for the nice words about the staff too. Hope to see you again sometime! More
