I am a heavy wine drinker and love wine tasting. Naturally when we decided to go mead tasting I was a bit dubious. So, mead is NOTHING like wine, but the experience at the meadery was on par with the best wine tastings I have had. They have a very large variety and the lady doing the tasting was very... More

We had a fantastic tasting and tour here. The mead is really interesting. Some is delicious, some not my taste. The lady doing our tasting was super friendly and knowledgeable, and really made it an enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this as a must-do in Portland! Tasting is $5 per person but very worth it as there are many flavors to... More

I'm not a huge fan a mead as it tends to give me a quick headache, that said, these Honey Makers are gifted and are putting some great effort into they're products. We tasted everything - loved the Ram Island tea tea. Also liked the cool logos gifts and t-shirts to take home.

Tasting room is nicely done. Owner was working the counter when we were there and was quite nice. He seemed very excited about what he does and that makes the experience better. The different varieties were quite nice and we were pleasantly surprised that many were not overly sweet. We were most surprised by how much we liked the lavender.... More

I love mead, and this place just made me love it more. The bartender knew all about the meads was just all around wonderful. She had a great sense of humor, she was friendly and fun to hang out with while we tried some awesome mead. I've never had carbonated mead before, but I will have it again. And of... More

I'm not a big mead fan, but they've got some tasty flavors, it was very busy so the girl doing the pouring seemed rushed, but I will definitely look for this in my local wine shop

Very personable, the owner spent time with us explained each and every mead and let us taste each one then refused a tip! We bought several bottles and will go back if ever in town again! Recommend the iced tea and spiced mead very good! Prices are very reasonable as well.

We walked to Maine Mead Works from downtown and sampled many tasty brews. I usually don't like mead, but these were some of the best I've ever had, work a trip.

I thought I had posted a review from my phone, but checking today I see that it never transpired. I first tried Maine Mead Works when I received it as a gift, and it became my favorite alcoholic beverage. I live in NY state, near dozens of Finger Lake wineries and craft breweries, so I have sampled my share. The... More

This meadery is a low-frills establishment, run by fewer than half a dozen employees, but the product is high-end enough to make you think it must be a whole lot bigger. Everything is made with love and dedication to the Craft of mead… a perfect example of small-town America and what good artists can produce. It was rainy today so... More
