This sad sorry excuse for a brew pub is advertised like its the end all be all of Maine destinations for food and beer. Travelers beware of this trap set for you to enjoy the pig urine and overpriced food from a can and no I wouldn't give any of this to my dog either. Servers are like Dori from... More

We stopped in on a Sunday midday on a friend's recommendation. If it weren't for the positive reviews, we probably would have left before we were served since we had the "new guy" and waited about 10 minutes before we asked the bartender what the deal was. After that, the service was great, the beer was good, and the food... More

Stopped in on a busy Friday for the happy hour. Wonderful and delicious appetizers. I think I may have overdosed on jalapeno poppers. Some beers on tap were only $3! Qe also had dinner and it was delicious. A good time and good value.

Wanted to try their beer while visiting so we stopped by on a mid-week night to find a decent crowd, including some live music. The beer menu seemed standard but the beers we chose we just ok. Staff was fine. The inside of the building felt a little rough around the edges which we enjoyed as it gives some character.... More

I like this place during the late afternoon on a weekday. Their chowder is excellent. Its a pub and loud during the weekend. But at the right time it can be a great time. Service is great. My only complaint would be for them to not run around because you can get knocked over. But loved the soup and will... More

We went down to the Old Port to check out the sights while we were in Maine visiting my husband's family. We had my 14 year old and 10 year old in tow and they hate seafood. We stopped at Gritty's (as they call it now) for an early dinner. The atmosphere might be great at night, but it's really... More

Recently visiting Portland ME., we ate at Gritty McDuffs. The atmosphere was great, the chowder and shepherds pie was super yummy and we had more than enough help getting a ramp out for my wheelchair. PLUS, it was later on at night and the manager opened up his gift store just for us. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. ALSO...I would like... More

The Old Port is where this local beer franchise began. What was once a path-breaking microbrewery having an onsite brewpub with strong local color has morphed into a mere shadow of it’s former self. Replacing it at this flagship location is just another mediocre and characterless local tourist trap. Bartenders and servers have all the charm of ravenous wharf rats.... More

Went here just for some beer and was not disappointed. Sat outside in the back area and it was very nice.

This is a seat-yourself pub with wonderful atmosphere. It has great beer selections and good pub food. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were attentive. It's a great place to take a break from shopping and sight seeing and get some food. It's a very relaxed and everyone made us feel welcomed. It's right in the heart of... More
