Great tour

Great way to end a trip. Got some great history about the town. Tour guide was funny and very personable! We would so do it again. The food and beverages were to die for.

11/21/15. Excellent tour, have visited Portland many times on day trips. Learned more about the history of this remarkable town on this tour than in all the prior visits. Our guide was knowledgeable about the city, its history, attractions, and the amazing emerging culinary scene which includes several Beard Award winning chefs. The establishments we visited, on the other hand,... More

I paid 100.00 for this tour believing I would be fed. I had a discount coupon for 10.00. Here's the list of what 100.00 bought my wife and I each: one glass of honey mead wine, one bottle split among 12 people, 1 marshmallow chocolate cookie, 2 ice cream sized scoops of lobster mac and cheese, one piece of blackend... Thank you for joining us on the Culinary Walking Tour. We're happy to hear that you enjoyed the entertainment and education provided from your guide, and sorry that you found the selection and quantity of food lacking. Most guests have noted in reviews that they are not only full after a tour, but some have to bring samples home! Nonetheless,... More

Even though we have been to Portland many times we decided to try something different this time while visiting with friends. After reading the TA reviews, we decided on the noontime lobster tour. Randy our guide was great. As we had hoped, we were taken to a couple places we had always just walked past as well as a couple... More

Introducing our guests to new tasting experiences is always a pleasure and we're fortunate to have such amazing culinary entrepreneurs as tour partners. As the most coveted food item for visitors, we also enjoy sharing lobster facts as many guests have never seen a lobster that wasn't already boiled, and on the plate! Thanks for sharing your tour experience and... More

The tour was great. We tried some amazing local flavors and got some behind the scenes info of the local restaurants and markets. For us, the 3+ hour length was a little long, but we would definitely do another tour at a shorter length. Our guide was extremely well informed and had great insight into the local flavors.

The culinary walking tour is typically three-hours or less, although on occasions guides can get a little long in the tooth with their enthusiasm to educate guests! Happy to hear you had a great time and we'd be pleased to see you again in the future. We appreciate the time you took to share your experience through a review! More

We spent our first night in Portland on this foodie tour and it didn't fail us. We got to walk around the downtown area and try restaurants that we probably wouldn't have tried otherwise (our stay was only for 2 days!). Our guide was knowledgeable and even recommended other places for us to eat based on what we craved. And... More

Perhaps it’s because we’re New England natives. Maybe it was the anticipation of arriving hungry and leaving blissfully sated with all things Maine. The Old Port Culinary Walking Tour conjures eating delectable Maine food and tasting wine while meandering lovely Portland on a fall day. The price suggests the same. This tour is not what we expected. Kudos to our... More

While the primary focus is on the food and beverages served, we also like to take the opportunity to share examples of the city's history and culture. As part of the tours, guests are also introduced to many of the small-business owners/operators that we visit, whose knowledge and enthusiasm for the culinary arts adds to the tour and complements the... We did an Old Port walking food tour in Portland. The small group of 10 was perfect to enjoy all the wonderful establishments we went to. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Portland as well as the local chefs. Would do this again!

I did the Old Port Tour with Christopher, and enjoyed every minute of it. Chris was full of interesting information and was easy to talk to. There are plenty of locales that we know visitors are already going to visit while in town.
