The moment I found the Traps and Apps tour online, I knew I had to do it. Unfortunately, we were not supposed to arrive in Portland until Saturday and the tour is Friday afternoon. So my boyfriend and I cancelled our original plans of spending a few days in Montreal and instead left early to make it to Portland for... More

A wonderful way to get a taste of Portland for a vacationing foodie! Absolutely love our visit to Vervacious and the local farm to table Public Market House. We returned to both locations after the tour to explore further! Highly recommended.

My husband and I really enjoyed this walking tour and visit to various food shops and eateries. Our group was small -- just 3 couples -- and we visited a number of places from the spice shop where we started to a bar/ restaurant that offered local color and beer sampling to another with chowder and sampling, to a fabulous... The engagement and educational factor is just as important to us as the tastings themselves! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed your experience at the different stops and appreciate your review! More

This isn't a fast paced tour, good for people who may not be able to get around as quickly. We visited a variety of places and was really able to see what Portland has to offer. In fact, one of our stops was a farm to table tapas style restaurant called Sur Lie that we loved so much that we... More

We aim to give our guests enough time at each stop to engage with the staff/owners and become more educated regarding what their business is about, not just taste and run!. It's always great to hear that a repeat visit was necessary to delve a little deeper into the food and beverage-based items that our tour partners offer! Thanks for... More

Yes, we got a little background about Portland, and we certainly ate (and drank) plenty. But be forewarned, if you think you're going to sample some of the Portland "foodie" scene, you'll probably be disappointed. We'd heard so much about the supposed Portland food scene, but came away unimpressed. This was more "traditional" eating -- lobster mac n cheese, clam... More

Our tours are a mix of quintessential Maine cuisine and creative tasting experiences with history and humor along the way. The culinary walking tour, for example, is based primarily on tasting experiences that sample from many aspects of the culinary arts and classic local cuisine whereas the Happy 2-Hour Tour offers a more modern spin. The term "foodie" all too... More

We took the Lunchtime Lobster Crawl tour in July. The guide was very good and we had a nice sized group. We walked through downtown Portland and sampled at several restaurants.....mostly seafood. The food was very good and we got a good feel for downtown Portland. In addition to the restaurants on the tour, our guide recommended several others. We... More

Our tours offer a diverse selection of edible and imbibing opportunities with a strong focus on Maine's coastal bounty. Local history and additional recommendations on great eats and drinks to partake in are another perk to guests participating in a tour! Thanks for being a frequent foodie! More

My wife and I took the Lunchtime Culinary Tour in Rockland in July. It's a new tour and has only run 2-3 times. We were the only guests for our tour. The guides are very nice and have been living in Rockland for many years. They were a wealth of information. We made a variety of stops.....our favorites were lobster... More

This was a great way to get a good feel for The Old Port Neighborhood. Lots of great info and interesting stops. Only complaint is we had too many people on the tour and it did slow things down a bit

Occasionally the pace of a tour will slow down a bit when guests are particularly engaged at/between a location(s), or to accommodate for mobility. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your overall culinary tour experience with us and appreciate your feedback! More

Last week when the weather was in the 90's (yes, even in Maine) my husband and I went on a food tour in the Old Port. We have done food tours in NYC before so we thought we,d try one here. Our tour guide was Jim and he was so determined to make sure we enjoyed ourselves that he got... More

I recently spent a Sunday enjoying Old Port with Maine Foodie Tours. Worth every penny! We met at the Old Port wine shop. Excellent selection of wine and cigars. We walked next door to Vervelicious, a shop selling flavored balsamic reductions, spice rubs and finishing salts. I found this place on my last trip to Portland and was excited to... More

There is a beverage item or two that we don't want to leave out of the tasting opportunities on the tour, but to add them as stops would add an extra thirty minutes or more to an already three-hour tour. So, we opt to provide their delicious goods for your tasting pleasure and then pointing you in the direction to... More
