Let's start with this: real life is not The Discovery Channel and marine mammals, fish, seals and so forth are not contractually bound to show up on schedule. We saw plenty of seals yesterday during a lighthouse cruise (a tour which I highly recommend, by the way). On this four-hour trip, even those seals were AWOL. We have been told... More

Take this trip at the beginning of your stay, because if you don't see any whales they will stamp your boarding pass to allow you another trip free of charge anytime within the next year. We went twice without seeing a whale, so have another trip available if we get back to Maine within a year. They say they have... More

Our trip was lovely. The crew was helpful and directed us to lots of marine life. Very professionally done.

Very nice employees! We called from Brunswick at 8:30 to get on the 9:00 watch. we did push the speed limit just a tad. I called to see if they would wait for us as we were 10 out. They did and I was so greatful! We did not see any whales but you could see they were trying. Staff... More

I went twice this summer and didn't see any whales. The crew was very nice and the boat was fine. I understand it's not their fault but it was a bit disappointing spending 8 hours on the boat and not seeing anything. All in all it was a good time!

The boat was spacious enough to walk around and explore. The crew were knowledgeable and friendly. The weather was crisp, clear but cold (Not much they could do about that ha ha). But helped as the sea was like glass. We were lucky enough to see Three Minke Whale, countless harbour porpoises and lots of other marine life, including seals... More

We set out on the Odyssey for a four hour tour and had a good time. The weather was chilly, and the waters choppy, but that is what being out at sea is about. The crew were very knowledgeable and helpful. Alas, no whale made its presence known, but we did see a harbor porpoise, and a harbor seal along... More

Have been on a whale watch trip before (Gray whales in California) and can't help but compare the two experiences. I would've expected a much more educational experience. During the Odyssey's harbor departure, information was given by the captain about the local landmarks and lighthouses. After that, once the boat came up to full speed out onto the ocean, we... More

Exceptional crew - just no whales this time around - we had a full boat so it was hard to move around to see on the other side of the boat. Crew was great - this was a Sept cruise and they even provided blankets and such. Chopping Sea that day but the Captain did his best to mitigate as... More

We went out for one of their 4 hour trips and saw whales, porpoises and so many dolphins. For as far as the eye could see across the horizon we could see dolphins. They played in our wake and swam right up the boat as if they were putting on a show for us. It was an incredible trip. Also... More
