This is one of the best brewery tours available. The tour covers how the beer is made and much of the history of the company. The culmination is a small tasting with four good sized samples.

This is a truly amazing craft brewery specializing in Belgian-style ales. Their new space is very nice and they give a great tour. The staff is also very friendly and there are copious amounts of merchandise you can take home with you. They are located in an industrial complex outside of downtown Portland - maybe a 10-15 minute drive. Across... More

The Allagash Brewery offers a terrific tour and it is free. The brewery is located outside Portland and is worthwhile. Visitors will enjoy an hour long tour at the microbrewery. The tour is very informative and includes tasting of four types of beer. Even as someone who does not drink beer, I enjoyed learning about the operation of the brewery... More

Brewery was in full operation during tour. Good lesson in the basic process of brewing beer. Tour was great - could see the machinery functioning from addition of ingredients, processing of "mash" to actual bottling/kegging. Tasting afterwards was a treat. Surrounded by exotic brews in barrels for long term aging while sampling at least four beers. Not sure it it... More

Fun tour through the Allagash Brewery. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and OBVIOUSLY enjoyed his job! Fun thing to do if you have a spare hour or so but make sure you book the brewery tour. We did fortunately, even on a Tuesday at 6.00 the tour was full. Major benefit was sampling the offerings of a great small... More

My husband and I have toured A LOT of breweries in many different parts of the US, and we agreed that Allagash offered one of the best tours we have taken. The tour takes you through the brewery to see all aspects of their production, and ends with a tasting of four beers in the barrel room. Definitely worth the... More

Great tour. Kids (ages 12, 12, 14) enjoyed the tour, too. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The guide explained whole process from production, bottling, chemical reactions, ways to create new flavors. Bonus: sample awesome beers! (ID at start of tour)

Free tour and 4 free beer samplers!!!! We signed up for the tour the night before online, and had no issues getting in. The tour was very informative, and not too long that you'll get bored. It takes you through their beer making process, facilities, and packaging process. Our tour guide was very genuine and even let us try an... More

Nice brewery, friendly staff good beers. My favorite and they're flagship beer Allagash White, which is an excellent summertime Belgian wheat beer that's lighter in flavor and a bit cloudy, best with a slice of orange. I also enjoyed the Curieux, which was a very full and completely flavored beer, 11% alcohol.

I'm not a beer drinker but visited this brewery with our large family group who was in town because we were camping nearby. We had a great time and those in the party who liked beer very much enjoyed themselves too. Personally, I enjoyed the tour of the facility, the R&D Room with the barreled beer and seeing the operation... More
