This was a great brewery tour with everything you'd want. It's a little outside of downtown, so nice and easy (and free) parking. The brewery is big (constantly expanding), the drinking area/store is nice, the outside is spacious and fun, and everything feels very professional and great. You can reserve your spot online in advance so there are no surprises.... More

This was the perfect place to visit on a rainy afternoon (actually anytime). I enjoyed the tour. The guide was terrific and amusing. We saw how the beer was made and were given explanations about how it was made and what made the beer special. The 4 tastings were generous and good! I'd highly recommend this tour.

Allagash Brewery is about 20 minutes out of Portland downtown. The cab trip was $20 each way. If you had a car, it is off I-95 and would be easy to access. You need to book your tour of the brewery at least a month in advance on the Allagash website if you are going in the summer. The tours... More

Came here from Chicago looking for some of my favorite beer. I drank that beer. And I was happy. Then i drank more, and I became sadder and sadder, because that's what beer does to you. I left with beer in my stomach and in my trunk and it was good.

Allagash makes great beer...no doubt about it. They specialize in the Belegian style but also collaborate and experiment with other traditional and non-traditional flavors. The FREE brewery tour (reserve in advance for those busy weekends) is informative, fun, and offers a tastings of some decent beers. The Store is moderately priced and has some decent, quality items. Tip: Visit Bissel... More

While staying in Portland we drove here to the Allagash brewery. We were right on time for a tour but decided to skip it and just do the tasting. We sat at their bar and got a flight with four samples to try. My favorite is the white. It's free which is great.

We have been to many large and small breweries. This ranks near the top for both the beer and the tour. This is a very worthwhile stop but don't just go for the tasting in the main room. If you go on their tour you do the tasting in the brewery and even thought we have been on many we... More

Allagash is one of my favorite beers so I just had to visit the brewery when we went to Portland. Nice large tasting room and selection of souvenirs. We took the hour tour with a very knowledgeable and funny guide (how do I get that job?). The tour ended with a tasting of 4 seasonal selections. If you are in... More

We took a brewery tour of Allagash and we had a great time! The tour lasted about an hour and ended with 4 free samples of beer. Our tour guide was knowledgable and fun. Definitely a must do if you are in Portland and you enjoy beer. Allagash is probably one of my favorite beers - it is the highlight... More

Allagash makes some of my favorite beer so when I was in the area for a wedding I was excited to visit the brewery. We signed up for a tour online ahead of time. Tour was great and it finished in their new tasting/barrel room. They gave everyone on the tour four different samples of beer. Tour and tasting were... More
