They have the tasting of four different beers first and then a group of about thirty were brought on the tour of the brewery which was very well maintained and clean. The woman who led the tour was very informative and pleasant. More

I needed someone to pick me up and drive me back to my hotel, and ZERO cost. Allegash won a new beer drinker that day! More

Generous pours on the tastings. Smart and well-versed young woman gave the tour. Small retail operation out front for a T-shirt (of course) or to buy beers. More

We stopped at the Allagash Brewery on our recent trip to Portland/Freeport. The beer is fabulous and the tour was fun, too. Everyone was nice and knowledgeable and more than happy to talk about beer :) They have a nice store where they sell their regular beers and it sounds like they usually have at least one 'exclusive' beer that... If you've been to a brewery before, there are no surprises here (save for the finale in the barrel room, which is very "cool" -- sorry for the pun). The high point of the visit is the beginning of the tour: unlike other brewery tours, they START with the sampling, which is very smart. Why drag out the crowd with... More

The tasting happens before the tour. We tasted 4 different beers. Neat to see where all the Allagash beer is made. More

Great chance to check out how beers makes its way to the bar. Our tour guide gave us some great recommendations for other Portland places to check out. Worth a visit. More

Allagash is a relatively new brewery with a focus on Austrian Trappist style beers. The plant is located just outside of Portland in a quiet industrial park; the beer is good and the presentation includes a sense of humor and style. My group had just finished a 'virtual' tour and tasting at Shipyard where visitors get little attention. At Allagash,... More

The Brewery tor is your typical brewery tour. Go for the tastings and take some decent beer home with you. We have several good brewers in the Portland area but I think Allagash is the most unique. More
