I can't say how many hours I've enjoyed experiencing various performances in Merrill Auditorium over the years. From the symphony, opera, rock, musicals, comedy shows, and more, there's always a huge variety of stuff programmed throughout the year. It's a rather comfortable venue, though tall people should probably avoid the first rows of the balconies. There's a good amount of... More

The acts are always great, the acoustics are very good and the seating is very comfortable and views from anywhere. It's an intimate setting too, very nice experience all around!

We recently got last minute tickets to the Auditorium to view Celtic Thunder's tour there - even though they were in the balcony, the view was excellent, and I doubt there is a bad seat in the house. The acoustics are as grand as the decor, and the seating is quite comfortable. Those with walking difficulties would do well to... More

I've been to dozens of shows at Merrill since moving to Portland in 1980. The building was completely restored a number of years ago. It is truly a sight to behold. The acoustics and site lines are top notch. The staff is friendly. Highly recommended.

I have been here for major concerts as well as for kids shows, and I absolutely adore this place. The accoustics are excellent, and even the concession choices were excellent downstairs. If you have time to walk around the building, do so, talk about marvelous architecture.

The auditorium is build to let the sound fill the auditorium. There are three levels. They do have an elevator to the balcony and third tier. Once we got to the balcony, we found there were lots of steps to get to the level of our seats on the balcony. If you have problems with steps, I suggest you get... More

Beautiful Theater in downtown Portland, ME Attached to the back of City Hall. We have been attending the Bob Marley New Years Eve show here for several years now.
