Whether climbing a mountain, entering a bear's den, role-playing crewmembers on a 40-foot schooner or manning a space shuttle, children will have a blast at this highly interactive museum. Most of the museum is geared to children aged one to 11, but young teens will like the computer lab and the camera exhibits. There's also a play area just for toddlers.

This is the perfect place for parents, grandparents to take children on a cold Maine day. The activities are interactive and fun. My Grandson loved the fire engine and the climbing wall. Do arrive early because it becomes very crowded within the first hour.

This is a great place to visit with your family; I would have given this 5 star rating, but that would be reserved for the Boston Children's museum, but for the area, this is a great value for your money. Pack a lunch and snacks as the vending choices are limited.

My 9 month old son had the time of his life here! They have a location that is safe for the little ones to crawl around and play which he had a ball and must have played there for an hour. The rest of the museum was gauged for slightly older children but still worth the admission for the little... More

This museum is very lovely and cozy place. We got here around 4 pm and since it was less than hour we got 50% off. My child (4 years old) really enjoyed this place. Very creative spaces and wonderful for younger children!

This is the most amazing place for children, everything they could possibly want to do and completely safe environment. My Great Granddaughter had the time of her life and from what I could see so did every other child there

I have took my children to several different children's museum. But for my children this place was the best! From morning to evening they provide very educational and fun programs everyday. My family and I had a great family time there!

I was a nanny for several years in Portland and the Children's Museum was a go to great time for my two boys. They were 8 and 9 years old at the time. This museum has age - appropriate and interactive exhibits for all ages...from dinosaurs to scientific cool experiments and nature phenomenons. Our favorite time was on school vacation...we... More

This was just what our 16 month old son needed after 2.5 weeks travelling! Soooooo much fun. Lovely staff. Clean and full of activities! Each area is really engaging and there was a great little talk about turtles, which he managed to sit through! Lovely little water play area (bring spare clothes!). Really enjoyed it!

I have taken my children here twice, and they seem to have had a good time. This last time, however, our seven year old thought many if the exhibits were baby-ish. It is a fun place for children (IMO 6 and under to play for a couple of hours). Worth the reasonable price.
