No ace was as exciting in Old Portland. Proximity to shops, places of interest excellent. Lots to do. We drove and had the convenience of our car to go other places in Maine. Peaks Island Tour, Kennebunkport Maine. Excellent vacation with lots to see and do. 4 days was chocked full. Will be returning.

We were there at night so maybe didn't get the full effect. It was pretty rowdy, I think probably from kids returning to school. There are a number of shops and restaurants that are open late, which is convenient. The cobblestone streets and little shops are charming. The smell near the water is unpleasant at times, and there is a... More

This is a great place to walk around while enjoying a visit to Portland. The original buildings and cobblestone streets are interesting to see. The harbor docks are very active and there are numerous places to eat or just grab a drink. Many of the restaurants and pubs host live music which adds to the atmosphere.

A nice place to wander around and do some tourist shopping. Probably takes less than 2 hours to see everything in the area. The smell from the port can occasionally be overwhelming.

The Old Port is the heart and soul of Portland. Travelers can spend the night at one of the beautiful hotels. Shop at creative and interesting stores or take a ferry ride around Casco Bay. Dine at James Beard Award winning restaurants then enjoy a cocktail at one of the many bars and cocktail venues. Don't forget breakfast at Standard... More

This is a good place to visit while touring Portland. There are a variety of shops and restaurants as well as the markets where fresh seafood is sold.

This is must-stop if you are in downtown Portland. There are many shops, eateries, tourist activities, and bars to keep you occupied for a full day. Its crowded in summer, but the parking is not so bad.

Fun to walk around if weather permitting, but it's mostly shopping and restaurants. Not much else to do or see.

The old port section of Portland is beautiful. It has the hustle and bustle of a big city but feels like a small town. The people are just lovely not the jaded type you find in most cities. It was more touristy than Boston but it didn't feel crowded I think because Portland is almost tiered it spreads things out.... More

A great walk through scenic streets and interesting buildings. There is ample shopping, not just tourist knick knacks but quality items. Ample parking available. Look for the 5 dollar flat fee for parking instead of the four dollars per hour parking.
