Old Port has such a homey feel. One can wander around the area to shop in a variety of businesses, visit numerous attractions, eat in quaint and/or well-known establishments, stroll along the waterfront or its many streets, and so much more. Parking can be a real hassle though so it's best to find a parking garage. Sometimes one has the... More

Lovely old area with plenty of bars and restaurants, a nice waterfront with paths to walk along and great visitor centre. Only slight negative is that there seemed to be a lot of vagrants round the area, more than we saw in New York but generally felt a safe area.

Walking in Old Port makes me feel connected to America's history. Walk up any street from Commercial (the harbor side) and the small shops, narrow streets and narrower alleys instantly speak of those who came before us. There are still cobblestone streets and restaurants and shops that are upstairs or downstairs. The streets are windy and sometimes a little oddly... More

Old Port is a great area to visit on a sunny day to shop and watch the water. We did not experience the nightlife, but I suspect that it's a relatively young scene. If you are in Portland, it's worth a stop!

Perfect place to go with your significant other! Lots of local vendors and cute shops line the cobblestone streets. Plenty of restaurants too. The water is nearby also of you want to catch a ferry or cruise ship tour. Wouldn't take small children, not a lot to entertain them. Wonderful experience.

A very interesting and vibrant port that can even entertain large cruise ships. Lots of interesting and unique shops with great items and Delicious food. Can easily be entertained for several hours and you'll be eager to return

Friend and I decided to make a quick visit to the ocean after a few days of hiking in the White Mountains. Portland seemed like a nice place with where we expected we would find some live music. Rather disappointed. All the bars we encountered were sports bar with big TVs. Not very many interesting boutiques or things to see... More
