Monhegan Boat Line has provided year round ferry service to

Monhegan Island for nearly 100 years. The Laura B and Elizabeth Ann

offer three trips daily during the summer. Coastal Discovery Cruises are also available. The Puffin/Nature cruise visits Eastern Egg Rock after the captain hauls a lobster trap in Port Clyde. We used this service to travel to Monhegan for the weekend. The boat isn't fast but the trip isn't too long (about 50 minutes one way). The dockside service was exceptional and the parking area was organized and stress-free. I highly recommend using this service to Monhegan.

Don't miss Monhegan Island when you visit Maine. The Port Clyde ferry is the best and the original - they also provide the most varied departure and arrival times so you can spend the entire day on the Island. If you get there first thing in the morning you can do the outside loop and near the end of the... More

We have used the boat line for over 14 years, through calm seas and choppy seas. They are well organized and friendly. Have been on the Elizabeth Ann and Laura B out of Port Clyde. Make your reservations on line. Remember this is also a working boat bringing goods and supplies to Monhegan so sometimes extra time is necessary for... More

Totally good experience. From the effective onliine reservation system, efficient car parking and check-in. Friendly, helpful, and competent crew members. Comfortable boat and crossing experience, with a little island history thrown in. A great day-trip for us!

Nice, safe and efficient ferry ride out to Monhegan Island. The island has many trails to walk and beautiful views from everywhere. We went out for the day, a lovely trip!

The Monhegan Boat Line provides Ferry service to and from Monhegan Island, a must see destination if visiting the mid coast of Maine. The ferry takes about an hour to make the trip. Reservations are recommended and we were glad we made them. The ferry was full for our 10:30 AM crossing. The staff was very pleasant, the ride very... More

Extremely disappointed in the Lighthouse Tour yesterday, 08/19/15. It was so foggy you literally could not see the lighthouses. They cancelled our viewing of Two Bush Light because it was so foggy. The captain made a comment as we were leaving the port as to how foggy it was and that if he cancelled the trip now, he would disappoint... More

I am so sorry you were disappointed in your tour- the special cruises are tricky because we try to decide on going or cancelling 2 hours ahead of the trip. I understand you were disappointed the fog did not dissipate for better lighthouse viewing- we do not ask for deposits on the cruises because they are so weather dependent and... More

Even if you never knew puffins existed, this is the cruise to take when in Port Clyde Maine. You will learn about puffins and EC, Andrew and Jamie Wyeth, Forrest Gump, the history of Indians in Maine and all about lobsters. What more could you ask for. Except for eating lobster it was the best 2 1/2 hours we spent... More
