We took the Laura B to Monhegan, and the bigger ferry back. Both were fun in their own way, but I think I preferred the Laura B, which is tiny and feels more exciting on the water. When you book your tickets they tell you to arrive 30 minutes early. Due to a mixup, we arrived a few minutes LATE,... More

Been traveling with this boat line from the first time I came to Maine. The crew is so efficient and are very quick at loading - and some days the boats are packed with luggage and cargo. They are always so careful with my paintings and I'm sure other art works and for this I really appreciate them !

Have taken the Laura B. to Monhegan Island many times. I enjoy the small boat experience in the early am. If the weather is nice you can sit outside on top of some of the crates and boxes headed over to the island or it also has covered seating. This time my husband and I were thrilled to find the... We just had our rehearsal dinner activity on the Laura B run by Monhegan Boat Line. We had an excellent two hour tour with an open bar and snacks. It was a most excellent adventure and the staff was amazing. This boat service is top notch with excellent staff and service. Thanks so much to the Laura B !

My family loved this trip and it was one of the best things we did over our 2 week stay in Maine. For just $30 a person you get a 2.5 hour tour around all of the surrounding islands with a guide who knows every animal, island and nook and cranny of the area. There is indoor seating at the... More

The other Puffin cruise from new harbor costs 28$ for 90 minutes while Monhegan Boat Line is 30$ for 2.5 hours. So I pick Monhegan because I get to see more small islands on the way to eastern egg rock. You can call ahead to reserve your spots but I don't think they will ask you to prepay. It is... More

Boat service to Monhegan Island is not a luxury liner but the views of the Maine coastline are panoramic and well worth the ride. Crew was friendly and they made the extra efforts to pull closer to seals lounging on the rocks and helped with wildlife sitings. We saw porpoises, sea birds, harbor seals and a bald eagle on our... We were fortunate that the winds were calm, so our ride was smooth. There was plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. The crew pointed out wildlife when sited. On our return trip a young woman had boarded the wrong ferry; they made announcements so that she could connect with other passengers who might be headed toward her ultimate destination. Service... We made a dry run to Port Clyde so we would know exactly where it was. We were greeted by the crew and received complete information for the next day. Since we were not in peak season, we were told that we did not need a reservation. You do need to bring layered clothing for the trip over and back.... More

We used Monhegan Boat Line after the boat line closest to us wouldn't accept us because we hadn't reserved 24 hours to our departure. Not a problem with MBL! They were super friendly on the phone and in person when picking up our tickets. The captain and crew were very friendly and informative. We took the 10:30 boat to Monhegan... More
