I had an opportunity to visit the Rockland ME tasting room. The staff and owner made for a fun tasting event and I could not believe that every wine we sampled was excellent. Definitely worth visiting and we we definitely be stocking up the next time we are in Maine.

The farmhouse tasting room is located just a few minutes drive from both the Owls Head Lighthouse and downtown Rockland. We were warmly greeted and seated on the farmhouse patio to do a very relaxed tasting. We did a shared tasting, so we tried 8 wines for $6. They have a nice variety of wines, including reds, whites, roses, and... More

We showed up at their tasting room right at closing time, but that made no difference. We received the normal treatment to their tasting without being rushed, liked a few of the samplings, and purchased same. Probably did not spend longer than 20 minutes there but it was well worth the visit.

We stopped in for some wine tasting at the Breakwater Vineyards, but walked away with so much more. The property, which is a vineyard, working farm, and winery also includes a spectacular home with a taste testing room and wonderful array of wines for sale. We tried several different wines, but then had the added treat of having the owner... More

Upon overlooking their beautiful setting grapevines to ocean view back entering via cozy porch for wine tasting. Soon discovering they also offer a well balanced mead (honey wine)... we bought several bottles and need to return soon for more.

Very lovely and lingering wine tasting with a darling lady ( I was too taken by the house and didn't remember her name) very gracious hostess. Wonderful wines and no hurry. The winery dog, Cindy, was just adorable and friendly. Visit the winery then head to the lighthouse!

Kathryn and I were on our way up the Maine coast on a long-awaited vacation. We were searching for some unpasteurized cider at a farmers' market on the waterfront in Rockland, when I spied a booth for a winery!? Rockland? When I lived in the area in the early '70s, a winery was almost an impossibility. A wino, yes, but........ More

When you arrive at Breakwater you'll be taken back by the house and the tasting room inside. This far up in Maine it's a bit stunning to see a William Poole style southern plantation house. The location on the Owls Head peninsula is very nice and the fact that the Owls Head Lighthouse is just a few minutes away makes... More

We loved our brief stop at Breakwater for a tasting. We were particularly impressed with the Pinot Noir and the Rosè. The Honey Mead was interesting-wished we could have tasted it more chilled. Beautiful view and splendid hosts.

What a pleasant surprise to drive up to Breakwater Vineyards...a lovely, stately home whose gardens have cobalt blue glass fish 'swimming' in and among the flowers. Gracious hostess/owner....wonderful wine tasting...bought lots of wine to share and take back back home.
