Pier is old and not too much to see. Pier is more or less a few shops and a few restaurants. Not your scenic pier like down south. If you're there you have to walk it anyway just to say you did but don't expect too much. BTW they charge .50 to use rest room.

It's OK for the young crowd. Lots of shops selling lowgrade wares. Tee shirts not bad, but other stuff junk. Food mediocre. Good place for a walk and ocean view. If you want better food to eat and clothing to bring home for gifts to the family and friends, it's better to shop on the main street.

This is a hot spot if you're in Maine though just the area is hot because the water might be cold for you. Many stores and places of interest. The beach is open, the water cold... did mention that? Jokes aside, checkout the restaurants by the pier. Good lobster deals and entertainment.

My wife and I hung out on the beach for a few hours then had happy hour at Surf 6; keeping the party going we walked the pier. Typical tourist like spots to buy jewelry or tee shirts, places to eat, have your palm read, we wandered out to the end where there is a huge two story bar restaurant... More

A typical tourist place but worth the walk around. Kids loved the marshmallow guns. A money trap for sure. Avoid the Pier Restaurant...a total rip off.

Is OK if this is your style. Lots to eat and drink, very, very commercialized, seemed like a good place to party. Not a partier so didn't interest me. Lots of choices for food of all sorts at outdoor stands. Very, very casual and lots of fun.

Nice to visit the pier, shop and try food. Also has a good nightlife with live music at nights. Beware of the airbrush tattoo place as they never last and are quite expensive.

Nice stop on way back from Bar Harbor except for a very distasteful attempt at being charged 50 cents to use the restroom. There is a FREE one about 1000 feet from pier

Nothing beats a Pier and the sights in sounds. Hearing the sounds of children's laughter and the smells that encompass you as you stroll around. The feel of the cool ocean breeze at night.. It reminds me of when i was a kid and used to go the beach!

Loved the shops, oysters were decent with a couple beers on the pier. Water was not too cold and the waves were tasty.
