Ate an early supper on the pier because the hostess assured me it was a family friendly place before 8:30. Well...... I would suggest if your family consists of anyone under the age of 14 or so to maybe choose another place to dine. Don't get me wrong the food, service & live music were amazing but I have 2... More

Although I love OOB and Palace Playland, the "famous" pier is a little gross. You have to walk through what feels like a gauntlet of tattoo places, dirty little taco and pizza stands, and tons of people smoking cigarettes. There aren't even good places to shop out there, and when you get to the end, there are two grouchy looking... More

Not sure why, but the pier was only open half way. Few shops and restaurants were open. In my opinion, even if everything was open, nothing special here

We visited the pier for three days over Memorial Day weekend. Even in the rain, people still strolled the beach and were on the pier. I think on Saturday during the rain, some vendors may have been surprised that people came to the pier. Our family ate lunch at Myst and the waiter thanked us for coming in the rain... More

along with the honky tonk of an end of the rail line town. did you know that back in the day, the railroad companies financed amusement parks at the end of the line to get peeps to ride the train? family fun, 2 great casual fine dining: the Landmark Rest and Joseph's by the Sea and plenty of dependable food... nothing was open because it was before 'the season' but the view was still beautiful. Wish there had been more to do there.

Over the years the Old orchard Pier has changed due to the times and fires. Today, it offers the amusement park people a chance to see what a pier is supposed to be like. Great views of the beach, places to get french fries with a touch of vinegar, a dough boy with powdered sugar, and some Maine friend clams.... More

We went here in March and just loved how quiet it was. We sat together and watched the sun go down almost every night. It was beautiful when it was empty but I don't think I want to see it in the summer.

Old Orchard Beach offers a lot of fun things, and the Pier is one of them. I like walking the pier, doing some shopping, stopping to eat and listening to the soothing sounds of the water.

If you just say "The Pier" anywhere in the Portland area, everyone will know you're talking about the pier at Old Orchard Beach. Rich in history and rebuilt numerous times due to storms and fires, it's a summertime tradition to visit "The Pier" at least once a season for many residents of Southern Maine. Great views from along the pier... More
