Had heard of it forever, but had never gone. Did it...it was ok. Not anything fancy...at all!! Wont be back. For what it cost me here for my family of 4, I'll save my money and go to the tropics!!!

It gets pretty crowded here in the summer, but there is lots of beach to spare, if you don't have too much to lug. There are plenty of accommodations, restaurants and bars within walking distance to the beach. Parking tends to be expensive $10-20.00 a day, depending on how busy (holiday, weekend) the day is. There is also Palace Playland,... More

Water is colder than in MA but so what? You are out of the city and for us that's all that counts. There are bathrooms by the pier. Rides and games abound for the kids at the pier. Many bars and fun dinner spots all along the boardwalk area. Walker friendly. You can get anywhere you like on foot.

We took the Amtrak "Downeaster" here and it was such a great day trip! Your typical boardwalk area with bars, restaurants and shops. We even met a fortune teller! They have a small theme park and arcarde too. A great trip for a group or friends or family and you can easily spend an entire day there. Keep an eye... More

Old Orchard Beach (OOB) is amazing. It has all the charm of days gone by. There are no chain hotels and the beach is very well kept raked and clean. There is an amusement park and arcade and all the souvenir shops and food that you would expect at a beach. There is a pier that goes out over the... More

When you see the white soft sand and big waves you will not believe your eyes. I have brought or sent many people and families and none of them said they expected to see an awesome beach in Maine. Its the best at low tide when you can walk on hard sand for at least 50 yards and still not... More

I liked this beach because of the sand and stores, mostly. It is not too far from Saco's Funtown Splashtown park, which I would recommend very highly of vacationing in this area! Remember to share you thoughts with us when you get back!

We stayed in a rented house on the beach with the ocean at our back door, the first week of October. It was wonderful! The beach was clean...hardly anyone one on it. Everyone friendly. Ate the best fried dough ever at the place on the corner that specializes in French fries and by the entrance to JJ's. We too had... More
