This is off season and of course it is cold and windy. But it is beautiful out here. We can see for miles in either direction and also on the horizon. Not a lot to do here off season but that is fine.

Everything was closed for the season when we got there , we made the best week we could By Sight Seeing the Light Houses and dinners out some 20 miles out of our way .. So we tried to make our Honeymoon as fun as we could for the off season stay in this area

I needed vacation by the sea and this destination was one I used to go with family. If you go out a little you have miles and miles of a beautiful and quiet beach! Will go back for sure!

7 miles of golden uninterrupted beach is the main reason we keep coming back year after year. Sand is soft, clean, well maintained.. water is cold, but not as cold as you'd expect from Maine

We went the first week of October and it is very deserted which was wonderful. Most of the town was still open but some were closed but it was just a great place to unwind which is what we were needing.

Visiting family brought us to the area, family and making memories keep us coming back. Old Orchard beach has plenty of shops and a seaside amusement park and fireworks every Thursday night at the pier during the summer. Each time we go I search for something we have not done before. We have traveled to Portland, about 20 minutes away... More

We drove up from Wells (a family of 15, 7 being ages 9-18) to go to Palace Playland wanting a change from the rides at the York Zoo which we love and recommend for the whole family. Not knowing what to expect, we found the admittance rate rather expensive ($32.00 per person), but decided to stay. Well, to our surprise,... More

Five people on the beach!! You could feel the spirit of families in the air. Hear the screaming children in your mind but the streets were empty and the beaches serine. Stunning time of year!!

Old Orchard Beach is 7 miles long and offers a great quality of sand and surf. This year, we personally spent 88 days on the beach, from May into October. The strand is ideal for walking, jogging, picnicking and body surfing, although a wet suit or skin is suggested. For couples, the best week to visit is directly after Labor... More

This cottage was exactly what we needed for our long weekend away with our 28-yr-old son, our 4-yr old grandson and our little beagle (not only are they pet friendly but they did not charge extra for the dog!) It was right near Portland which we needed as our son was ducking out now and then to attend his good... More
