Just spent several hours with a friend who has never been to these gardens and we were overwhelmed with the beauty of these gardens. So many varieties and such rich blossoms, absolutely worth the hike up to them or drive. There is no fee, but a donation of $5.00 is posted upon the entrance - and worth it to help... More

The walk up the cliff to Thuya Gardens is worth the hike (you can drive it, but it is a well designed trail). You get lovely views all along the path, and then are offered a beautiful surprise at the end. The gardens are in great shape, with a great display of perennials and annuals. Well labeled, it is highly... More

It's a beautiful garden, but I'll always remember Thuya for the conversation I had with the most wonderful volunteer who told me all about the lodge and the history of the area. I wouldn't have even known to go into the lodge (only went in looking for a restroom), but I'm so glad I did -- so be sure to... More

Beautiful and serene. Does not take long to tour - maybe alot an hour. If you can drive Sergeant Road, gawk at the gorgeous homes in Seal Harbor which is not too far from the gardens

Well tended gardens, beautiful flowers at the peak, or start of peak. Folks working there were very helpful and respectful even if the questions were a little pedestrian.

The Thuya grounds are lovely. Nice place for a walk and to see the flowers typical to Maine. Easy for all ages to get around. We took my 80 year old parents and they had no problem navigating the grounds.

This is the place to be if you are an avid gardener like I am. Thuya Garden is always so beautifully in bloom when I visit each September. The dahlias are tall and lush, the Joe Pye weed is taller than any I have seen elsewhere, and hummingbirds will often sit and pose on a branch while I snap away... More

Dramatic climb from the road up to the gardens. Beautiful, well tended grounds. Research library. Access to nearby hiking trails. All gardeners that visit MDI should NOT miss Thuya Gardens.
