Walked through wooded area and turned a corner to find brilliant beautiful colors. Well maintained flowers of all shapes and sizes are placed in a nicely planned landscape. Each area has it's own personality and kids had fun taking pictures with the taller varieties. Definitely a good stop.

Thuya Lodge and Gardens is a worthwhile addition to your Bar Harbor vacation. Be sure to drive until you find the Thuya Drive parking lot. Otherwise it's a monstrous climb up the hill. Nice docent led tour of the lodge and a self guided tour of the gardens.

Don't miss this amazing English Border Garden. Hike up the rustic and winding trail from Route 3 or drive up to the gate. Each year head gardener, Priscilla Hutton, designs an amazing palette of colors, textures and species to create a paradise of tranquility and life - perfect for meditation, photography and enjoyment.

We went here in November and the gardens are in season but it would be real pretty in the summer months. A place I want to return to. We was looking for a geocache here. The climb isn't for the elderly but there is a road to go up during the summer months.

I have never seen such a display of flowers in full bloom in September. All colors, sizes and shapes adorned this garden. Joseph curtis, a Landscape Architect, summered here from 1880 until his death in 1928. He entrusted the proerty to the residents of Mt Desert. On his death, charles Savage was appointed as trustee, which he was for 37... More

Located in the area by Northeast Harbor, it is really hard to find but worth it once you do. The gardens are well kept, beautiful, peaceful and tranquil. We look forward to going there.

Peak blooming in September, but still gorgeous in October. Thuya is special and we always visit every time we're on the island.

We eventually found these lovely gardens after walking from Northeast Harbour along the main road. Really the shuttle should stop here and we can't understand why it doesn't. Well worth the walk though.

Great garden. Quiet. Hummingbirds. Charming little house. Hiking trails nearby. Views of nearby harbor from lookouts. Excellent value. Thoroughly recommended.

Small garden, but beautiful. I love the layout, the plants, walking paths. Everything about it. I captured some beautiful pictures.
