The greats of Modern American Art came to Monhegan, many of them, before they were famous, and most of those are represented in the museum, in a small, eclectic, and delightful collection. More

This is a must go see when you get to Monhegan. Just the hike to it will afford you some out of this world views, take your camera!! More

“Monhegan Museum -- Tiny Gem”

We loved the tiny Monhegan Museum at the lighthouse. The view of the village and the ocean is superb, and the museum well-maintained and remarkably comprehensive -- overview of early Native American history, fishing, painting culture etc. The docent was friendly and answered all of our questions. More
