What a family friendly educational nature adventure around Walkers Point area. Captain and naturalist narrator haul lobster traps and explain the fascinating habits of these ancient crustaceans, which can live to a hundred! Breeding females, snapping males, and sometimes even a minuscule baby lobster may be part of your voyage. Well worth the nominal fee and 1-1/2 hour cruise! Take... More

During the second week of July we had a schedule change and visited Kennebunkport. We had much to see while there and decided we would take the Lobster tour, what a great choice!

The captain and mate know a lot about lobster. They take you our on a refurbished 1963 lobster boat. We got to watch them pull traps, we help some lobsters, and we each got to put a band on the claws. It was a great day on the water. We got pretty close to Walker Point the Bush family compound.... Captain Bob and D.J. know their stuff about lobsters. On a beautiful, sunny Maine day, the two hosted an hour and a half cruise off Kennebunkport. I already knew how to tell a male from a female, but learning about lobster mating rituals...priceless. As Bob informed the men, male lobsters have two...oops, kids on board. I'll never forget male lobsters... More

This was excellent! This was excellent for adults and children. Even my teenagers found it interesting. We got a hands on lesson on lobster. We now know more about the lobster than the people serving them. Thank you Captain Bob and DJ!!

Captain Bob and DJ provided an excellent and fun 'fishing' experience. Lots of detailed information about lobsters, fishing practices and local area. We all enjoyed the hands on aspect!

What a fun tour! Bob and his partner (sorry, forgot his name) did a great job teaching us all about the lobster. Who knew they were such a complicated animal! Hands on as well, if you wanted to hold the lobster or put the bands on the claws. Definitely recommend this for anyone looking for something to do while in... More

Last week my family and I rode on the Rugosa for the 3rd year in a row. We learn something new about lobsters each time, and my kids love the hands-on Captain Bob offers. Passengers hold the lobsters, practice putting the band on the claws, and throw them back in. We weren't planning to take the tour again, but it... More

An excellent introduction to lobsters and the lobster industry in Maine. Approximately 1.5 hours of pulling lobster traps and education about lobsters. Also, commentary about the area, including Walker's Point, summer home of the 41st President George Bush and his wife Barbara. Kids were able to band the lobsters and return them to the see; everyone got to hold and... More
