First Chance was excellent. The captain really does everything he can so you see whales and makes sure you get the full experience. We saw a lot the day we went and one got really close to the boat. The crew was amazing and was constantly making sure everyone was okay, they provided sun block, and the food was great... More

My partner and I thought we would give this a try after enjoying our Whale Watching Trip we had done in Dominican Republic. At $48. per adult it was significantly cheaper then our southern trip. I think we ended up about 20 miles from shore during which time we observed Minke Whales, a Fin Back Whale and most amusing was... More

A few weeks ago my sister and I decided to go whale watching while visiting Maine for our annual vacation. A few of my family members who live in Maine had mentioned that the best place to go was Kennebunkport to the First Chance Whale Watch. I looked up the phone number online and called the night before to reserve... More

First Chance staff was excellent, So attentive form making sure no one got sea sick to making sure your drinks were never empty you could not have received better service! There were 5 adults and 4 kids in my crew and everyone had a blast. Captain was also very knowledgeable. I highly recommend First Chance as your choice for your... More

First Chance Whale Watch offers a very comprehensive tour. They are well-prepared and knowledgeable about whale watching, the ocean topography, and weather trends. Captain Gary kept us actively looking for whales, which although in short supply, did finally make enough of a showing to give us a treat. I did appreciate that Cap'n Gary gave us a longer tour just... More

Our day at sea today was absolutely spectacular. Captain Gary, Julie, and the young man cooking the burgers (which were very tasty, by the way) were fun, informative and professional. You could tell that they truly cared about their customers having a great experience. We saw Humpback Whales, Minke Whales, Harbor Porpoises and a Blue Shark (and for those of... More

We went on the tour 7/23/14. We were quite happy. It took a long time to find whales, but eventually we saw 2 fin backs. After that sighting, the captain took us by a lighthouse surrounded by seals. The boat was very clean and the staff was friendly.

I would suggest going into this with the mindset you are paying $48 for a 4-5 hour boat ride into the ocean. You may or may not see whales. We saw a few small minke whales and some large fish but not much else. The crew can't do much about it. They were very friendly and attentive to the clients... More
