My husband and I took this whale watching cruise on our honeymoon in Kennebunk! It was a really good experience--the boat was clean, the captain was very personable but it was slightly hard to hear in the bow of the boat. The female crew member was friendly and knowledgeable, she even brought out a binder full of catalogued pictures and... More

I was very excited at the prospect of seeing big whales in their own habitat, but Mother Nature brought down the fog just as we reached the critical spot, about two hours off shore (18 miles). I half expected this to happen as there was fog when we left, but it seemed to lift. We had good visibility at certain... More

A perfect day out! The crew took time to ensure the safety of the passengers before we left dock. As we left the town, the crew pointed out places of interest. The tour took about 5 hours in total which included time looking for the whales. We were lucky to see 5 hump backed whales, including a mother and calf.... More

The whales were being shy the day we took this tour. We finally found some (13) which meant they stayed out at least an extra 1/2 hr.- but they made sure we saw some. The staff are friendly, have a good sense of humor, and knowledgeable. We were impressed that they went the extra mile to try and ensure we... More

My family booked a tour with First Chance hoping to see whales. Unfortunately, the whales were not very cooperative. We saw several Menke whales and a few Harbor seals and that was it. The captain was friendly and knowledgeable as were the crew aboard the ship. He tried really hard to find the humpbacks, which had been spotted on the... More

We had a clear day and smooth waters on Nick's Chance. It's a lengthy boat ride out to the whales but Captain Gary knew where to find them. It was a thrill to see the whales and a great day!! Don't miss it.

We planed this trip before arriving in Kennebunkport. The two bathrooms on board were broken the whole 4 hour trip. They stopped the boat once and used buckets of water to flush. Still it made the trip terrible. This happened 7/6/15 maybe it was just bad luck, but they should not have gone out with broken bathrooms. Better call ahead... More

We decided to go on this whale watch when the closer excursion was having engine trouble and the boat was down that week. We were so glad that we did. Kennebunkport itself is a beautiful little town. That was just a bonus. The ship was clean and well maintained and the crew was great. We happened to have a beautiful... More

Call before you go! With ides that change the water level up to 12 feet, the boat can only enter/exit during certain times or the water may be too low, but the tides are predictable and they can tell you when the departure will be the next day. We left during a low tide so the connection between the ramp... More

Went whale watching on July 4th with First Chance Whale Watching and it completely surpassed my expectations! i expected to be lucky enough to see "a" whale and we saw many. The boat was clean and spacious. The crew of young men worked hard to make everyone happy and prepare food for the hungry. We were entertained by the captain... More
