My husband and i came did the Sat AM snowshoe course and had a great time plus lots of exercise. We were a group of about 20 and two instructors. They took us by a small bus to their location of several hundred snow covered acres. The instructors were super friendly and knew their stuff. They explained what type of... More

I took two classes summer 2013, beginner recreational kayaking and women's only kayaking both worth every penny and second. I learned about the gear, the kayaks, paddling and the most important at the women's only full day class, how to get back into the kayak. The instructors are patient, knowledgable, fun and professional. I am going to take the class... More

Really enjoyed learning a new activity with friendly, knowledgeable instructors and a nice group of people. A great way to get out into the Maine woods and enjoy the snow.

Visited/shopped at their flagship store which is huge and open 365 days of the year, I understand. The store is not an outlet so no deals here but a full selection of all that they sell seemed to be available and a very pleasant environment with lots of room. Lots of fitting rooms as well.

We shot clay pigeons, archery, and kayaked Casco Bay all in one weekend. The instructors made it so fun, the classes were small, and it was a great value. Would definitely do again and again.

I have worn L.L. Bean clothes for years, so when I got a chance to visit the flag-ship store, I jumped at the chance. First, there are about five different areas within the campus. The specialty areas were cloths, camping, outdoor sports equipment, and others. The one thing that really stood out for me was the staff. They were extremely... More

The service and instruction were excellent. The prices are reasonable and for $20 you can try out an outdoor activity that you haven't done before (I did clay pigeon shooting but they also have fly fishing, archery, and other activities). The instructional staff were the best I've ever seen at any venue. I was highly impressed. At the end, they... More

We did the Pedal and Paddle weekend as a family trip. The guides were phenomenal and more then patient ( we were a bit like "that family" in the movie..lol). Enjoyed the bike ride where we visited a farmer's market and a marina where we stopped for lunch ( best chicken salad wrap ever). Camping was great, enhanced by the... More

Such a worthwhile trip! Enjoyed kayaking with the guide, who was so interesting. Definitely will plan ahead so we can enjoy more adventures. You get a 10% LL Bean coupon after the experience, so save your shopping until later.

My husband is from Maine and every year we spend a portion of our summer vacation in and around Freeport. We have been telling ourselves for the last few years that we should try Bean's discovery classes and this year we finally got our act together to make reservations prior to our arrival (you just call to reserve your spot...
