The location of the tour is easy to find. Just keep in mind if you're an American citizen staying in Lubec, you may have to drive a bit south or bug the folks at your hotel to use their phone to call Capt Andy the night before the tour to verify the time. My cell phones only picked up Canadian... More

We took this tour in a recent visit to the area. We absolutely loved it. Captain Andy was knowledgeable, entertaining and very good at his job! He and his first mate Tyler made our trip enjoyable and one of the highlights of our vacation to Maine. I highly recommend this for photographers and bird lovers alike. We can't say enough... More

Captain Andy and his first mate Tyler are fantastic! We went out to photograph the puffins but before we even went ashore Captain Andy brought us around the other island that is right there (I think it was called Egg Rock) to see all the seals that live there - added bonus I wasn't expecting. Spending time in the blinds... More

A friend and myself went out with Captain Andy and his mate Tyler. We had the most wonderful time. They were both so very knowledgeable about everything from the harbor to all of the birds and seals that we saw. We got to go ashore on Machias Seal Island and had such an unbelievable experience. Puffins, razorbills, murres, artic terns... More

This was so much fun. A 45 min. boat ride took us to the island, which is jointly claimed by both the US and Canada. We had 2 hours in the blind, photographing the puffins and other birds. One thing to watch for -if you are very short, as I am, you might want to take something to stand on.... More

This experience can't be beat. There's little I can add that hasn't been stated. Just go. If you're anywhere in the area, you MUST check this out. It's super cool being this close to so many of these beautiful sea birds. Just pray for good weather--this is a make or break. For the photographers, I'm just an amateur, but there... More

The tour was great. As you can imagine it depends a lot on the weather. The day I went out was overcast and a little rainy, but the seas were calm. It is a 45 minute ride out in calm conditions. There isn't much to see on the way out or back in. Once there it's hard not to see... More

It was a beautiful day with calm seas and sunny skies. We had booked two tours on the chance that one would be canceled and that's exactly what happened last Thursday. Today, Sunday, was much different. We had read an article about the puffin blinds tour which apparently is out of date. The article stated that you would have to... More

We drove 1,000 km from Kingston, Ontario hoping for the best, and we couldn't have chosen a better day, better seas, and most importantly a better host. Captain Andy went 'overboard' to make sure we saw everything there was to see, and even took us on an extra stop to see some seals on a nearby island. The tour starts... More

We use tripadvisor alot....had it was dead on with Bold Coast Charter Company. Capt Andy and Tyler, nice boat, fantastic weather. Saw all the Puffins, Razorbills, terns , seals that we came to see. I would give them a 10 out of 10, great experience.
