We selected the Olad from the many choices for day sails and were not disappointed. Trip Advisor is great to research attractions that someone as I know nothing about. Capt Aaron shared knowledge of the area, shared stories of local folks, famous summer vactioners and introduced us to "Hank" the seal. Easy access to boat with picturesque views as leave... More

We were celebrating our 50th and wanted something different but not to take up all day, a Windjammer seemed to fit the bill. The sail vessel Olad was what we chose based on some locals in Camden, ME and we were pleased with every aspect. A considerate, interactive crew that explained much about the local history, Islands and points of... More

The ride lasted two hours and in that time you just sail out of he harbor and back. Loving to sail, it seemed like a very short ride but would be a great initial excursion for so done unsure of how they will feel on a sailboat. We did sail by an island and saw seals, the weather was perfect... More

Sailing on windjammer Olad is great fun. Impressive but comfy, just the right size: big enough for tall-masted drama when sails fill, but small enough not to feel like a crowd. Ship and crew are exceptional. I recommend sail that's at least half-day; 2-hour cruise needs by necessity to remain near inner harbor. That's pleasant, but the real sailing pleasure... More

We enjoy watching the schooners come and go out of the harbor so we decided to take a ride. It appeared to be a calm nice day but once we got out from land the seas were rough and the wind very cold. It was all we could to to hold on. But the crew got us back safely to... More

We took the two hour trip which departed Camden's waterfront. Cruised the Penobscot Bay and water was very calm and pleasant. 17 passenger excursion and boat used both sail and motor. Saw dolphins, seals, and an eagles nest on one of the islands.

The captain and mate were fabulous. They did everything they could to make our trip as comfortable as possible. They get an excellent. However, it was very windy that day and we all had to hold on tight to keep from sliding all over the deck. It's a beautiful schooner and on a normal windy day would no doubt be... More

Captain Aaron and Mate Jeff did a great job working with the passengers on whether or not to sail in very foggy conditions. We were reserved for the noon sailing, with unusually late fog rolling in. Aaron was checking with people who were out in the bay to get the best info available about conditions, waited a little while to... More

The Olad is a beautiful ship, but I am sorry to say that the trip is NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. We had beautiful weather and a nice morning breeze for our sail and were excited to take the kids along with us. We sat right up at the front of the ship so the kids could steer and learn from the... More
