We've taken numerous sails on the Olad over the past few years. Captain Aaron is engaging and always has a great crew. Even let my 12 year old help with the sail. Perfect outing.

On Saturday June 1, my wife and I had a memorable adventure with Maine Schooners, the company that runs the Schooner Olad.
Olad is a 48-foot schooner with two masts and seating for up to 22 passengers.
When we called the day before to sign up for a sunset cruise on the Olad, the woman we spoke to – Charlotte...

Friendly crew! Excellent views of the Penobscot Bay and some wildlife (birds, seals). BYOB. A great time!
It was a beautiful windy and a bit cold day (mid May), but we were dressed for the sail. Captain Lincoln and his team are interesting, funny and full of details about the area. Beautiful Schooner and comfortable too. It was the opening of the season. You can't go to Camden and not sail with the Olad. 2 hours of...

We have taken several 2 hour cruises on the Olad and it has always been enjoyable and informative. It's a beautiful old boat and the crew knows a lot about the area and, of course, the schooner itself. Nothing beats an afternoon spent on the Maine coast!
It was overcast and rainy on our scheduled day, but it didn't spoil our trip. We really enjoyed being on a real schooner with Captain Aaron. We saw porpoise, an osprey nest, beautiful homes and the Curtis Maine Lighthouse. A very nice morning.
We took a chance with the sail on a "not so good day" but it turned out fine. The harbor area is beautiful. The waves got high and rough which made for the exciting part. These are very experienced sailors and make wise decisions. We had to come in a little early and they offered some refund and we were...

While we cannot give the crew credit for perfect weather, we certainly appreciated the genuine interest in educations, informing and gentle joking. The two hours were very well spent and it was both a relaxing and invigorating experience. While the owner did not captain our trip, he was very accessible for private questions before hand. Overall a very good experience....

The sunset cruise departed around 5:15 at the end of a day that started with spirited winds. The winds settled down by evening and the rocking of the boat was like a lullaby. Matt and his crew mate were obviously very comfortable at sea. Our photos of the lighthouse at sunset, the sunset on the water, and sails in the...

We went on the morning 2 hour cruise - great views and a very peaceful and relaxing way to spend a few hours with the sun on your face and the wind in your hair. Very worthwhile and also managed to notch up another Maine lighthouse on Curtis island which you would only see from the sea!
To be sure...
