Decided to take an afternoon sail on the Schooner Lazy Jack - we had previously sailed on the Surprise & had enjoyed that but wanted to try a different boat. Glad we did - really enjoyed the boat & the captains tales of local history, etc. And it's pretty neat that he built the boat himself. We were lucky that... More

Sailing is the signature activity of Camden Maine! We took an early afternoon cruise on Lazy Jack II in September. Captain Sean, who is also the boat's builder was very hospitable. It was if you were a personal guest. There were only 8 passengers - an ideal number most lent a hand in raising the sails. You can also take... More

It was an amazing sail. Rob and his assistant (sorry, I forgot his name) were very informative and didn't hesitate to answer all of our questions. The scenery was beautiful and it was nice to hear some local history. I and my friend had a great time. Thank you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our mid-day cruise in the harbor. The captain Rob and his first mate were so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We saw a bald eagle, seals and learned about the different islands/boats etc.My 8 year old son even got to help rig the line for the sails. We really enjoyed the cruise - BYOB/snacks and relax... My husband and I took the 2:30 pm cruise on Saturday. We had perfect weather for sailing and since the Lazy Jack II is the fastest we were able to go out the farthest and got an awesome tour of the Camden bay area. The captain and first mate were very knowledgeable and entertaining. I would go out again the... More

We went out on the noon sail on a perfect day. The sun was out and the wind was just right for a great sail. Captain Jack couldn't have been better. He was knowledgeable about the area and even about the local politics and boating and fishing laws and regulations. He was entertaining without being pushy and let people hear... More

We went on a sunset cruise during a vacation on a nice evening. The usual captain had contracted out to someone else to sail and provide interesting details about the harbor, lighthouse and surroundings. We paid full price but got only half the tour; scheduled 7:15-9:15 but we were back in the harbor docking by 8:30 tops. When I asked... More

My wife and I took the 5:00 PM cruise on a Sunday. Captain Jack (which built his own ship by the way) was great. We had a great wind and our cruise was very pleasant. I had never been on a sailboat so this cruise was perfect for my wife and I. It last about two hours and I highly... More

We spent the afternoon cruising Penobscot Bay on this schooner. The captain and crew were friendly and informative. Everyone just relaxed and took in the sights. We even saw a harbor seal. The only thing that I would say is make sure that you sign up for the correct ship. There are two ships called Lazy Jack and we signed... More

The owners are charming, interesting, and very friendly and accommodating. We had taken this same schooner before and always enjoy both the sailing and the entertaining owners.
