The people who greeted me were harsh and angry. I hated my visit. When I visit another church I want to worship in a safe environment, but was abused by the church members, who treated me like an outsider. Would God want this?

You can see the steeple from almost everywhere you go in Camden, Maine. We stayed right across from this while we were in the area, and on Sunday morning, they keep the front doors open (during the Summer anyway) so you can hear the church hymns from the street.

Very pretty and all through the night on the hour heard the church bells chime. After the first night got use to listening to them and they did not wake us up.

Coming into Camden from the north on Main Street the steeple of the First Baptist Church catches your eye immediately. Following the Main Street though Camden you will arrive at a small Veteran's Memorial Park on your left and beside it the Chestnut Street Baptist Church. CSBC was within easy walking distance of our B&B. It was nice finding a vibrant and uplifting church in which to worship while away from our home church.

I found it unusual to have the sanctuary located upstairs. They have a wonderful live nativity the first weekend in December during the Christmas by Sea events in Camden. Worth the wait.
