Only in Maine, could this be a "pond" - it would be a lake anywhere else. Several miles long, maybe 1/2 mile wide and quiet as a church mouse when we were there. Maybe a boat or two, but mostly kayaks, when anyone at all was seen. We stayed with family, so I'm not sure how you see it as... More

Friends of the family Genny and Willard Colby owned a camp on Pitcher Pond. We spent many weekends and most of the summers on the pond. It is where my love of the outdoors started. The pond back then had very few camps on it and the dirt road in made us feel like we were in the middle of... More

This long, narrow lake makes a nice quiet kayak paddle. Some development on west side. Wooded views, some small mountain/hills to view. Saw painted turtles in a couple of locations. Did not see loons, but heard them in distance as we were getting off the water.

We've been coming to Pitcher Pond for almost 40 years. Despite its name, it's a lake but a relatively small one (two miles long, a few hundred yards wide) and since it is hidden from the road, many people drive right by without noticing it. We love everything about it -- clean swimming water, loons, eagles, ducks, no jet skis,... More

The camp/cottage once owned by Clyde Holmes on the Northport side is the one my folks bought in 1956. All our Slade family and relatives and friends enjoyed it there summer, fall and winter. It was a hike to get across the Pond on Ice but we loved it. No power, privy in the barn, and fire place. It was... More

Great relaxing with nature. You can fish here, but won't catch too much. Bring your canoe!

Every time we go here, we wonder where everyone is. We even tried visiting on Fourth of July weekend and still it was quiet. We love to kayak over into the little alcove and play with the friendly frogs. The call of the loon is another attraction. Quiet serenity.

This is one of the most relaxing vacations. staying on pitchers pond is a wonderful experience. We stay at the Pennell cabins right on the lake every year. The scenary is breath takingly beautiful. Our children love to swim, Go tubing, and feed the ducks. the ducks are so friendly they will eat out of your hand. This is a... More

Pitcher pond is about 20 minutes from Camden but a world away. Nearly half of the three mile long lake is undeveloped. There is little boat traffic except on weekends during the summer. The lake is surrounded by woods and gives a sense of seclusion even though it is only a few minutes from Camden and Belfast. There is hiking... More
