A lovely stop on the way to Bar Harbor. Always some interesting reviews and a lovely though tiny gift shop. Found a birthday present for our mother. A lovely campus and free museums with something for everyone.

It's a cute little museum that it worth walking around once. I've brought a few of my friends and family to show them around Brunswick and for the price (free!) there isn't really any complaints. Just don't go in with super high expectations and you will see a few beautiful pieces.

We went to view the main exhibition, but were told that it had been closed (it was posted to last beyond the date we had visited), so we were very disappointed that they had closed it and chose to paint the walls. Obviously, it must not have done too well or it would have lasted longer. Call first to make... More

A must see on a trip through Brunswick. A small, intimate museum that offers a docent led tour on the hour. Great collection of local history, Egyptian art and a first edition of Uncle Tom's Cabin. No entrance fee, but donations gladly accepted.

As a student, I hardly ever went, and as an alum, I rarely go. My bad. Very interesting exhibit of Chinese modern art, as well as longer-term exhibits. Well worth the price of admission.

Came here while touring Bowdoin. I saw some truly world-class exhibits; everything from medeival religious art to surrealist photography. The different galleries were well thought out, and the quality was top notch. Although it is a small space compared to other museums, it didn't feel crowded or confused.

It looks like someone threw this together without any thought for theme. There are a few nice pieces of art, but in general, the exhibits are lackluster.

The museum is well-organized and gives the visitor plenty of information about the painting or piece of sculpture, as well as, some personal information about the artist.

I have taken trips to Bowdoin, Bates and Orono. Out of these three top tier schools in Maine, Bowdoin stands tall. I hope that when you visit, you take the time to enjoy the pieces of art. I'm not a big fan of art museum, but for quantity and in my opinion quality, Bowdoin beats the rest.

Small but wonderful museum. Strong eclectic permanent collection. We came for the Maurice Prendergast exhibit and were delighted to discover a small selection of Civil War prints, and an exhibit by 8 contemporary Chinese women artists.
