We first saw Bowdoin on a family trip to Maine, when our daughters were very young. The history and lovely campus was worth the stop. We have several friends who worked there in summer stock. When our daughters were accepted there for college we were thrilled and have spent some of the happiest days of the last four years (early... More

The Bowdoin campus is small and beautiful. The architecture is so New England; you won't question what part of the country you're in. The campus also has a very nice art museum. Very managable. Good exhibits.

Our visit was brief and we bicycled all over the campus! It was an excellent ride through the campus buildings, and we appreciated the nice pathways and very old and very new architectures. The campus was surrounded with trees and manicured lawns! It feels like very clean air all around.

If you follow the life of Joshua Chamberlain, then the road will bring you to this place that defined and nurtured him. Beautiful campus, with fantastic yards and tree lined roads. A great place just to wander around in.

Beautifully kept grounds, awesome for walking around, and don't miss the Art Museum! It's not a far walk from the Amtrak station, just walk south and just a 15 or 20 minute walk.

A very good collection housed in a Renaissance style jewel box designed by Charles Follen McKim with a well-conceived contemporary addition.

In addition to mingling with ernest Bowdoin students with their laptops and having conferences with their professors at the Little Dog Cafe, attending the occasional event for Friends of Bowdoin, attending Bowdoin Chorus concerts, and enjoying our friendships with many Bowdoin alumni in the area, we absolutely love Bowdoin's Arctic Museum. This is truly a local treasure that should be... More

I recently attended my 45th year Bowdoin College class reunion. The college and college campus has changed dramatically since I graduated in 1969; the college is now co-ed and it's size has doubled. It was great being back.

Even if you don't have a child searching for a college to attend, it's worth a stop to see this most beautiful campus. Some buildings date to the early 1800s, and many are open to the public. Don't miss the special chapel with pews that are parallel to the main aisle. Two museums, an art museum and an arctic museum,... More
