This monstrosity sits as an Ozymadias like structure on the banks of the hooghli. It is surrounded by people trying to scrape a living with few schools, hospitals or other help. Spending these vast amounts of money in a district where practical help would make such a difference is obscene.

A very calm and serene place, lovely food, if one wants to meditate and get lost in spirituality should visit Mayapur. Accommodation is basic but clean. One should take the durgapur expressway till Burdawan and from there tun towards Mayapur. Other roads are very bad.Best time to visit is winter.

Mayapur has rich heritage and holy history, and the ISKCON authorities have done an excellent job in transforming the otherwise-dirty (in terms of cleanliness) town to a wonderful premises inside. I love this place and they offer great food with no commerce in mind. Hare Krishna.

Online booking for accommodation isn't easy or available. Accommodation couldn't be chosen. Otherwise the place is good for Pilgrims.
