Description: We offer a one-of-a-kind sailing experience on a wooden Friendship Sloop...
We offer a one-of-a-kind sailing experience on a wooden Friendship Sloop, the original sailing Maine Lobsterboat. The Sarah Mead can hold up to six passengers who should expect to see lighthouses, porpoise, seals, osprey and even lobsters. We do lobster under sail, just the way they used to 150 years ago. Take the helm, hoist a sail, or just sit back and relax, it's up to you!

The boat allows for 6 guests. On the day we went only our family of 4 had reservations. We had a great time and Captain Nate gave us a great tour and pointed out a numerous historical and new sights along the way. We even caught a lobster. No problem parking anywhere at Spruce Point Inn. They were very friendly.... More

My wife, two adult sons and I went out with Cap't Nate Saturday July 18. The weather wasn't great - the wind was blowing and the seas were up. Fantastic! Cap't Nate set the sails accordingly and we had a great trip. Caught a couple of crabs and one undersized lobster, so nothing there, but it was a wonderful sail... More

We had a blast with father and son, Randy and Nate. We had the entire sailboat to ourselves which made for an especially nice evening. We learned a lot about their boat - the only sailing lobster sloop in Maine! I would highly recommend this outing.

Went out on the late afternoon sail. Nice old restored wooden friendship sloop that was historically used for commercial lobstering. Winds were variable and kicked up enough for part of our trip to nearly get a rail in the water -- fun. While we were out the fog rolled in. This might sound crazy but we thought that was fun... We sailed with Captain Nate and his hand on the morning 6/26/15. We had a great time. From the time we boarded it felt like it was a friend taking you out on his sailboat and teaching you what he knows. He obviously has a passion for sailing! We checked a couple of his old-style wooden lobster traps and even... More

We had a really great tour of the harbor. The captain and first hand were great, the boat is so smooth and really nice. We learned so much about sailing and the area that we were visiting. What a great way to see the ocean and the bonus of pulling the lobster trap and finding the goodies that were caught... More

Captain Nate made my wife's first sailboat a great experience! From the moment we stepped on board Capt. Nate made my wife and I feel like we were long time friends out for an afternoon sail. We enjoyed it so much we went out with Capt Nate again the very next day. His love of sailing and local knowledge make... More

Captain Nate is a sweety. Doesn't seem tired of doing the same old, same old. Was very friendly and attentive. Sarah Mead is a beautiful sloop and a pleasure to see and use. Nate stays to the old ways with a modern twist. Old style lobster fishing with wooden traps, etc., yet an electric motor in the boat. I SO... More

I noticed the Sarah Mead when we came in to Spruce Point Inn. The next morning, when they pulled her up to the dock to prepare for their morning sail, I went down to talk to them. They added us to their group for the noon to 2:00 sail. We had a brisk wind for our tour of the islands.... More

I chose a Sail Muscongus tour because it was a smaller vessel and I knew we would share the boat with a max of 6 customers...but to my pleasant surprise, my husband and I were the only sailors on our particular cruise and we got Cap'n Nate all to ourselves! On top of that, it was a perfect sunny day... More
