Description: We offer a one-of-a-kind sailing experience on a wooden Friendship Sloop...
We offer a one-of-a-kind sailing experience on a wooden Friendship Sloop, the original sailing Maine Lobsterboat. The Sarah Mead can hold up to six passengers who should expect to see lighthouses, porpoise, seals, osprey and even lobsters. We do lobster under sail, just the way they used to 150 years ago. Take the helm, hoist a sail, or just sit back and relax, it's up to you!

We sailed with Captain Nate and his hand on the morning 6/26/15. We had a great time. From the time we boarded it felt like it was a friend taking you out on his sailboat and teaching you what he knows. He obviously has a passion for sailing! We checked a couple of his old-style wooden lobster traps and even... More

We had a really great tour of the harbor. The captain and first hand were great, the boat is so smooth and really nice. We learned so much about sailing and the area that we were visiting. What a great way to see the ocean and the bonus of pulling the lobster trap and finding the goodies that were caught... More

Captain Nate made my wife's first sailboat a great experience! From the moment we stepped on board Capt. Nate made my wife and I feel like we were long time friends out for an afternoon sail. We enjoyed it so much we went out with Capt Nate again the very next day. His love of sailing and local knowledge make... More

Captain Nate is a sweety. Doesn't seem tired of doing the same old, same old. Was very friendly and attentive. Sarah Mead is a beautiful sloop and a pleasure to see and use. Nate stays to the old ways with a modern twist. Old style lobster fishing with wooden traps, etc., yet an electric motor in the boat. I SO... More

I noticed the Sarah Mead when we came in to Spruce Point Inn. The next morning, when they pulled her up to the dock to prepare for their morning sail, I went down to talk to them. They added us to their group for the noon to 2:00 sail. We had a brisk wind for our tour of the islands.... More

I chose a Sail Muscongus tour because it was a smaller vessel and I knew we would share the boat with a max of 6 customers...but to my pleasant surprise, my husband and I were the only sailors on our particular cruise and we got Cap'n Nate all to ourselves! On top of that, it was a perfect sunny day... More

We had a great sunset Cruise with Captain Randy for my wife's birthday. Our 3 boys all agreed it was the favorite part of their trip and they loved everything about the trip! Captain Randy was great and they liked the little "jobs" they had. I think anyone staying at the spruce point inn or in booth bay harbor should... More

Our 2 Hours with Captain Nate and Sarah on the Sarah Mead were amazing. This little boat and crew have so much to offer. Sarah was kind enough to show our teenage son the "ropes". Nate's experience and love of the area, came through loud and clear. The boat is truly one of a kind. Where else could one haul... More

We sailed with Captain Nate today, and enjoyed a great sail. The wind was in our favor, and we were able to see the sights of Boothbay Harbor. We saw osprey, porpoises, cormorants, and other sea birds. Capt. Nate was very knowledgeable and we greatly enjoyed our time on the water!

I drove from Portland to Boothbay for the day. Two hours with Randy and his intern Sara was so interesting. They are both very personable and knowledgeable about sailing, lobstering and the area. We saw a seal, porpoises, and an eagles nest. The weather was clear and the scenery is gorgeous. It was a relaxing way to spend my time!
