Although there's no guarantee on any given trip that you will see whales up close and personal, they do have a lot of sightings. As golden age travelers, we now always make it a point to ask about handicapped accessibility before we buy the tickets. Some boat trips require a dock or gangway to board and depending on tide levels,... More

While staying in Boothbay Harbor I went on a whale watch on board the Pink Lady. This was and has been on my bucket list for years. Can I say amazing! We saw about about 10 whales at a distance and then one came close to the boat and turned. We all saw the length and belly of this great... More

I went specifically on the puffin trip. There were Audubon Naturalists aboard. We saw at least 50 puffins or more, and a minke whale also! I sat on the top deck of the boat to enjoy the breeze and the sun, and also there is less motion there than on the very front of the boat. All in all a... More

It was a lovely trip out ,but no whales. They were very nice, and gave us tickets to go back again free of charge. The boat was very neat and clean, and the Captain and the hands were very helpful and informative.

The tour guarantees a whale sighting and we did see some on our tour, Also saw porpoises and seals. Nice boat with indoor and outdoor seating, beverages and snacks, and restrooms. Would do it again if I went back to Boothbay.

Cap'n Fish runs several trips out of Boothbay - we had vouchers for the Whale watching but had done this on a previous visit, however they were happy to exchange the vouchers for the similar-value Kennebec river cruise. This trip takes you up the Sasanoa river, weaving amongst the hundreds of islands around Boothbay, and then up to Bath and... More

This was our first whale watching experience in the Booth Bay area and it was outstanding. We saw numerous whales, which was very exciting. The captain maneuvered the boat to allow the passengers "up close and personal" looks. The staff was very professional….our marine biologist, Rachel, was so friendly and answered all questions with enthusiasm…which added to the excitement of... More

I never imagined I would see so many whales as I did. I was highly pleased. We saw many fin and minke whales in pairs. Lots and lots of spouting. Once it was so close I got soaked by the spouting!!! The guide was extremely knowledgeable about whales. Would go again in a heartbeat.

We had a family trip last Thursday 9/5/13. The trip was amazing! The harbor was pretty and the boat was a good size and felt very stable. The guide was a local marine biology graduate-very knowledgeable and fun. We saw over 15 distinct whales-large Finn and smaller Minke whales. The boat driver kept a respectable distance but some came within... More
