There is plenty of food at this clambake. The chowder had lots of fish. Personally, I prefer a thicker chowder, but it was very tasty. The lobsters were very sweet some of the best I have had this season. Staff was very friendly and attentive. There were picnic tables both in the shade and the sun. Some at our table had... More

For a second time, members of Parish of the Assumption enjoyed a bus trip from Dover, NH to Boothbay Harbor. After touring the sights, shopping or having a bite to eat, we boarded the Bennie Alice for our guided tour through the bay to Cabbage Island. Our group was welcomed by Bennie Alice herself as she showed us to our... More

The Moore family were wonderful hosts of this terrific clambake. The boat ride is fun and not too long, and the island offers a great view of the bay. You could eat at various picnic tables or sit in the covered area. There were rest room facilities in the covered hut and on the boat. The food was abundant and... More

Our extended family recently enjoyed the lunch clambake at Cabbage Island. The sightseeing ferry out lasts about an hour. It would have been more enjoyable perhaps if we could have heard more but the loudspeakers were drowned out by our fellow travelers, though the scenery was stunning! The food was fantastic--fish chowder, steamed clams, lobsters and all the fixings, followed... More

We were told Cabbage Island Clambake was a must do and it was. This family run operation scores number #1 in hospitality, and you won't leave the island hungry! We boarded the Bennie Alice named after the Matriarch of the family. The 45 minute cruise out to Cabbage Island is narrated providing the rich history of the area complete with... More

Day trip to Boothbay Harbor ME to meet friends and take in great clambake. Short boat ride out to the island with the Capt pointing out harbor highlights. The island offers a rustic setting that is quickly explored as the clambake steams away. This is a family run operation where you are warmly greeted ashore by one of the sons... More

Having made well over 10 visits to Cabbage Island Clambakes,I have to say it is an experience not to be missed! I echo the other reviews about the food, ambiance, and friendliness of the Moore family and staff. Been on the noon trips and the late afternoon trips, and they both are great fun! Always a treat.

The Moore family has run Cabbage Island Clambakes for many years now, offering a daily long-way run to the island on the Bennie Alice, followed by a seafood (chicken for those allergic to shellfish) feast in true Maine style. After a 40 minutes cruise to Cabbage Island, you debark for shore, find yourself a table either outside under the sun,... More

Great day trip. Great value. Great way to spend the day. Tour of the harbor and clambake on private 16 acre island (2 lobsters/person, steamers, vegetables, blueberry cake) for a very low cost per person. Also have to mention the people and family that run the island are extremely nice and the service is fantastic. Really great people.
