The variety of wine, along with the helpfulness of Max and excellent value make this a must for wine lovers.

This is a funky shop, which I love. It has more than just wine, and every time I go, I find more, like bread, cheese, espresso, etc. I think I even saw someone eating what looked like quiche, though I'm not sure. Max is very helpful and knowledgable. If I don't find exactly what I want, Max can always recommend... More

I've been going to Blue Hill every year since about it's opening. Each year when we visit Stonington we stop several times to load up on wine. In my view, Max is about the best at recommending wines. He loves to help isolate wines that one will enjoy. Amazing place for a small town.

The best wine shop Downeast. Max is very knowledgeable, engaging and informative about a wide range of topics. He and Mary Alice run a great store, wine, cheese, sandwiches, pasta and bread.

Great place! We go there for cheeses, granola, breads, local farm produce aas well as wine. Max is very knowledgeable and reliable with selections. As he say,s anybody can find you an expensive bottle of wine, but he specializes in finding those great bottles at reasonable prices.

Service is friendly and knowledgeable. We have purchased many good wines on their recommendations without breaking the bank. The cheese selection is lovely too and they will let you taste before you buy. Very intimate atmosphere in this lovely old restored building.

I have two new favorite wines, thanks to Max, the owner of this wine shop. With a few short questions, he steered me to a white and a red that turned out to be just what I was looking for. I wanted a low alcohol riesling and that's what he found for me, without giving me the usual line about... More

Thoughtful, accessible, carefully curated wine selection with options in all price ranges; excellent selection of cheeses, a sprinkling of other fine foodstuffs (good bread, good coffee, olive oils and the like), with the lovely ambiance of a wood-burning stove. Don't miss the Saturday wine tastings!

I almost don't want to write this and have people discover this place. It's wonderful... interesting wines, monthly tastings, excellent prices and great service. Once Max gets to know you (and it doesn't take long- not sure how he keeps it all in his head) you will get recommendations as soon as you walk in, plus he'll never let you... More

As with most of Blue Hill, this is one place to walk and poke around. Many wines in all price ranges. And many you can't get just any where. Cozy and feels good.
