Great spot

We had a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old and they both loved walking in the shallow river. The bridge was beautiful and everything was picturesque.

The Sunday River Bridge is located a short ride from Route 2 in Bethel. It a quiet location over a picturesque river in the woods. We were fortunate to have to meet two local men who were having lunch on the bridge. They told us all about the covered bridge. It was a real treat!

Was surprised that there were easy to follow signs to find this beautiful bridge. Hope my pictures turn out.

A glimpse into the past...after we left, we had to look up why the bridges were covered, that was quite interesting...

Beautiful quiet trails, bubbling brook, and a covered bridge. What more could one ask for? Great place for a serene walk.

We designed out route coming back from Moosehead Lake and headed to York around seeing the bridge. Located 4 miles off Route 2 on the Sunday River Road. The bridge is known as "The Artists' Bridge" because it is the most photographed and painted of all covered bridges in Maine (built in 1872) It is now closed to traffic, but... More

the falling leaves, the magic - a wonderful place to visit in Autumn. We visited the area and this was one of our favorites.

You don't have to be a covered bridge fan to love this one! In addition to the remarkable architecture, the water fun below is equally good. We had 5 kids with us who swam, played and even tried their hand at fishing. No, you are not going to catch anything worthwhile, but the kids loved the ability to do more... More

This is a beautiful old bridge, no longer used for traffic. You can walk through it and admire the craftsmanship. Great for bridge fans.

This bridge is awesome. It's restored perfectly, and it's in a very nice spot to pull over and take in the view and take pictures.
