I haven't done this one is some years. I remember it was extremely rocky in parts, and in those parts progress is very slow. But when you get high up it is very beautiful - you feel like you are hiking in the tundra. You'd have to be super energetic to get there and back on the same day.

Everyone always ask me what do you do in Maine. There is nothing to do. Well I say there is so much to do and it cost nothing. Just a little sweat. Enjoy the outdoors it is a wonderful place to spend time.

We started off mid day and planned to stay at the shelter where the trail meets the appalachin trail. We found the shelter no problem after about 1 and a half hours. After meeting some A trail hikers we settled in for the night on one of the tent platforms letting the other hikers have the shelter. Starting for Carlo... More
