This is THE Louisiana juke joint for all true blues fans. Teddy has been running this place for more than 35 years and loves what he does. Just a few miles between Baton Rouge and Zachary, tucked away on the Old Sceniuc Hwy, Teddy features live blues on most weekends and a great DJ on Thursday. Check the website for... More

This is a real deal, old-fashioned juke joint. Great music, great ambience and a full bar (which is unusual for a juke.) Teddy, the guy who runs the place is warm and welcoming and very interesting to talk to. (And was wearing a killer pair of white alligator cowboy boots.) The music, both live and from the dj booth were... More

Location: 17001 Old Scenic Hwy (Hwy 964) at the intersection of Heck Young Road. A couple miles south of Zachary. Sign out front by the road. The bar sits back quite a ways from the road. Phone number is 225-658-8029. You would barely know it is a bar as the outside is very unassuming. However the inside is great!!! Small... More

Teddy's is the last of its kind... featuring fantastic Blues musicians from around the country. The bar has as much of a character as Teddy does! They have the largest chicken wings I've ever eaten, too. If you want to experience a true Blues concert, Teddy's is the place!

I was looking for an out of the way blues joint where I could relax and enjoy the ambiance of a southern juke joint and that is just what I found at Teddy's. Teddy and his wife Nancy made me feel like I was a neighbor that stopped by for a visit. We shared our histories while listening to the... More

A little joint well hidden, we went there with some friends. We were the only ones there on a Tuesday night; and had a very memorable experience. Nice out of the way place to visit.

Checked out Dr. Porkchop on Sunday night. The band was awesome. Loved the ambiance of the juke joint. Lots of memorabilia and history on the walls of this place. Just what you expect in a "juke" joint. The band was awesome. The only down side was when the owner got in the DJ booth during the bands break. He was... More

Teddy is a complete character and the club is full of his memoribilia from decades as a blues club impresario. The club is very dark on the inside, but with strings of blinking lights and a huge array of blues guitars displayed. The DJ booth is Teddy's domain, from which he pilots the shows. He belongs there like a truck... More
