Delightful garden a scenic hour's drive from Ottawa!

Our visit was at the beginning of August. The one hour drive to the location is pleasant and well indicated. Admission cost is too high for what is available. There is a variety of Lilies dispersed at various location on the property. Toilet facilities are "go huts" type. There is no provision for refreshments in the luncheon area and in... More

We are sorry to hear that the visit of our garden did not meet your expectations and we are also very surprised. For $8, visitors can admire 1500 varieties of mature daylilies in the gardens and at the time of your visit, there were more than 85% in bloom. There are also 1000 varieties of perennials and shrubs in demonstration... More

We were three ardent flower lovers. We found flowers we did not even know about! The collection of Lilies was astounding, and the variety of Echinacea (Cone flowers) particularly amazing. Each plant is named and the owners even added little signs with poetry or text written by famous people in either English or French. It took us three hours to... More

How amazing! Incredible how they all did that by themselves (the two managers). It is really a little piece of paradise. The good thing about this place is that after visiting, you can buy the plants and flowers you just saw in the garden at the nursery. Cet endroit est simplement magnifique, surtout quand on realise, en parlant aux proprietaires,... More

The warm welcome set the stage for a lovely meander through the gardens in August. While the lilies were past their peak, the many garden rooms provided lots of ideas for garden design and the donkeys made us smile. A work in progress, the garden is a labour of love. While I am not usually a fan of quotations painted... More

Les Jardins d"Emmarocalles in Ripon, Quebec (45 minutes from Ottawa) is worth the drive for both plant lovers and those who just enjoy strolling lovely grounds alike. We visited the gardens on Labour Day Monday and although the hundreds of day lilies were not longer blooming (they are at their best in June & July) , the garden of grasses... More
