The New Orleans area has something for everyone -- and everyone should take the time to go on the Honey Island Swamp tour sometime in the lifetime. I absolutely loved it and recommend anyone thinking of doing it to go with Pearl River Eco Tours. They are wonderful!

Captain Wade was a great tour guide. Saw plenty of wild life. And learned a lot of interesting info.

A friend recommended PRETE so we booked a tour. The swamp is beautiful and the guides knowledgeable while also entertaining us. We saw some gators right away. Also saw wild boars, turtles, herons. The boat we had was covered and there was seating for all (a little cozy). I was pleasantly surprised there were no bugs and though it was... More

There is something to be said about the swamp in winter. It was a lovely ride with plenty of birds but no bugs. Also, no reptiles or amphibians. No fault of the tour guide though! We booked a small boat and had a great time. The guides are knowledgeable and friendly. We had a fantastic visit and have decided that... More

We were turned away from another swamp tour because we didn't have reservations and decided to try PRET. We were greeted by a friendly guy and the wife of a guide. Both told stories and chatted with ease. Next came MURPHY! A huge, ginormous love bug of a dog. Scratch his ears. Captain Bryan was fantastic. He said his brain... More

We drove out in our rental car and had no problem finding the place. We paid extra for the 6 person tour and we think it was worth it. In the small boat it was easy to get close to the wildlife and the guide stopped every time he saw something interesting. We found the guide very informative and interesting.... More

Took a quick trip over from Abita Springs on a cloudy, cool day. We went out with the guide, John who grew up in the area and was very knowledgeable about swamp life. We certainly did see numerous variety of wildlife , gators, huge birds, raccoon and best of all the wild pigs. We do have swamps back in Wisconsin,... More

We were picked up for this tour in a mini bus from our hotel in New Orleans and were lucky enough to get taken by Captain John in a smaller boat. What a lovely experience! this gentleman has lived in this area all his life and is incredibly knowledgeable about the eco-system and wildlife. We were out for approximately 2... More

For the price of $25 we had low expectations for this tour. However, we were blown out of the water (no pun intended)! Trey, our guide, was a local who grew up in the area and had so much background knowledge about the environment and the people. We saw alligators, fish, turtles, snakes, raccoon, pigs, egrets and cranes- oh my!... More
