WOW who knew that you could have so much fun in the swamps. My husband and I went out today with Captain Greg who was a hoot, what a sense of humor and so much knowledge to share about the swamps. We saw alligators, pigs, birds & turtles. Loved every minute of it.

We saw so many alligators and the hogs were a big surprise. We got many great pictures and videos. The alligators and hogs loved the marshmallows and hot dogs our guide fed them. Our guide, Ryan, was the best. So much great information and he was so helpful to the other guides in boats around us so the alligators would... More

Doing a swamp tour was on my bucket list and after reading many reviews I decided on Cajun Encounters. A bit disorganized and crowded when we first got there but after our group was called we loaded Captain Bishop's ship. He was a great tour guide and we were the only boat to see alligators up close and personal. We... More

We went on Cajun Encounters swamp tour with a ticket we had pre-purchased over the internet. Fortunately it was a pretty nice day. There was a bit of a sprinkle in the middle of the tour but our boat was covered over. About the boat - it held 20 people and all of the seats faced the water. Many boat... More

We traveled over 1,000 miles to come here. Our children did nothing but talk about how awesome this attraction was going to be. We purchased advanced tickets so we were stuck with the day we chose. It happened to be a 68 degree day but sunny. Due to the weather (according to our guide) the alligators are not active when... More

This is something I've always wanted to do when visiting New Orleans, and while it wasn't quite as I expected, it was enjoyable. Two girlfriends and I drove ourselves down to take the tour. Glad we didn't pay the extra $25 per person to ride the shuttle. Unfortunately, it started to rain just as we were ready to board the... More

Really interesting guide, a true Cajun swamp rat. Knows his 'gators, plants, birds. Bring layers of clothing because it can get really surprisingly cold as well as hot. Shop is full of bad clothes and junk, so save your money. Not enough restrooms if several busloads arrive at the same time. Half hour or more from town. Don't sign up... More

Fun, informative experience, beautiful scenery. Enjoyed our tour guide, had some interesting bits of history and nature information. Was amazed at the reasonable cost in the gift shop. A little early in the season, would be fun to do this again in August.

The staff at Cajun Encounters were all very friendly, the boats get you right into the swamp where you get to see it up close. They encourage their guests to ask questions, and the whole experience was great.

We are from So California (2 seniors, 2 adults, 2 teens) and were visiting Louisiana for spring break. We had originally intended to visit a nearby gator farm but due to an unclear website ("open year round!") we found out it was actually closed that day, so I decided to fill in with a swamp tour (which I originally intended...
