We were lucky and went on the 10 person boat, but when it came time to go we were the only couple with the captain, so needless to say we got a great 1 on 1 tour and were able to go into places the boat would normally be to heavy to go into. Thank you so much for the... More

I would rate all the essential things 5* - the website, the by phone reservations, and the trip including comfort and view from the boat as well as the informative and amusing guide. Only draw back was it was December, so we saw lots of birds and turtles and a raccoon family, but no alligators. Would recommend.

Captain Troy was really good. We only saw one gator as it was too cold. But Troy tried to show us as much as possible. He was very knowlegable on the trees, history, flowers, animals etc. Great tour, would recommend.

This was an awesome tour! The staff efficiently processed three bus loads of people plus several car loads amidst a local tragedy. The tour guide was very personable and his comedic timing was on point. Even more impressive was his experience and knowledge of the bayou including, the effect of Hurricane Katrina, the history of the locals, the dynamics of... More

Me and my friend did not Bayou tour on my birthday. We did evening tour, around 5 pm, because we were informed that this was the time when more gators were out to feed. A shuttle picked us up from our hotel in New Orleans and took us to Honey Island Swap in Slidell. Our tour guide was Captain Greg.... More

We took the first tour out in the morning. We saw many nice views of the bayou and swamp land, and saw a baby raccoon, many turtles, a young nutria rat, a snake and 3 little alligators. Overall it was a nice boat ride through the bayou and swamp. However, we were taken through a residential area where the locals... More

I really enjoyed taking this tour. Being from the city (Los Angeles!), I loved that this tour offered a look into something different - the swamps. It was beautiful. Our tour guide knew a lot about alligators, the swamps and the different animals that live there. He took us deep, deep into the swamp and it was nothing like I... More

We went on what just happened to be the coldest day of the decade but still had great fun with Captain Greg. Like I said it was freezing (stupid polar vortex) so a lot of the animals were hiding but Greg still spotted a small gator and some other critters, and shared a lot of really cool info with us,... I am in New Orleans to celebrate my 40th BDay with the wife and some of our best friend couples and have a bucket list of things to do, eat and drink and (it's really mostly eat). I really wanted to see an alligator in the wild and Cajun Encounters did not let me down....our guide Bishop was a character... More

As first time visitors to New Orleans we could not ask for a better tour than this. Our tour guide Jason was very knowledgeable, articulate and humorous. The tour was informative while at the same time stimulating the need to learn more about this place so rich in history and culture. Our guide gave excellent recommendations for restaurants which we... More
