Very good swamp tour that shows you more about the local environment and culture. The guide gave us very good explanations about the local fauna and flora.

Small boat run by Capt. Greg, great sense of humor, very knowledgeable and overall fun time! Though we didn't see any gators, we had a great time with Capt. Greg! Highly recommend requesting HIS boat!

We took off for New Orleans for the holidays. I had been there a dozen times before but was either too inebriated (Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest) or too hurried (work trips) to really settle in and enjoy anything other than a few good meals on Bourbon Street. So my wife and I settled in and started touring. What a... More

Captain Bishop was fantastic. Funny, very knowledgable and informative. This was my first time in a swamp and I'm so happy to have been there. We didn't seen any gators because they go dormant in the winter BUT it was still well worth the trip. We did see some wild pigs, baby raccoons and some turtles. Honey Island Swamp is... More

The tour was $23 with the AAA discount since we drove ourselves. I didn't think it was worth $25 more (per person) to ride their bus from the hotel in New Orleans, and I think we made the right decision. Google Maps took us directly to the ticket office and departure point. We were on the water for about two... More

we took a tour with Cajun Encounters during th christmas break and we were quite pleased with the overall experience. The boats were nice and the guide was very informative (Captain troy) who had great knowledge about the area. We say a few gators, wild hogs snakes and turtles and most important of all the Kids had a blast.

We went in December which is a perfect time if you don't like alligators. It was great to get out in the bayou and listen to all the quiet, especially during Bowl time in New Orleans. We did see lots of birds, saw a wild pig, saw some turtles and did see a gator come up and take a breath.... More

The bus ride is 45 minutes East of New Orleans, in Sidwell. There appears to be six or seven boats in operation. If you can, ask for Sonny as your Captain. December is hibernation season, so you may not see gators, but wild pigs, turtles, birds, and (snakes, if you are lucky) will be seen. Sonny is an individual who... More

We were lucky and went on the 10 person boat, but when it came time to go we were the only couple with the captain, so needless to say we got a great 1 on 1 tour and were able to go into places the boat would normally be to heavy to go into. Thank you so much for the... More

I would rate all the essential things 5* - the website, the by phone reservations, and the trip including comfort and view from the boat as well as the informative and amusing guide. Only draw back was it was December, so we saw lots of birds and turtles and a raccoon family, but no alligators. Would recommend.
